All he ever wanted was to be Prime Minister, he can always say he achieved that, but is he likely to go down in history as the worst PM ever.

Will he be forced out by cabinet assassins?

Or will he hang on till 2010 and lose in an election, even if it means wipe out for Nu Labour.

Or will he actually be decisive and resign.

What do you think will be the end game for Brown?

To be honest, I think we've reached the point where Labour will lost the election anyway, Brown or no Brown, short of a miracle occuring.

He's the best they've got and tbh he's the best out of ANYONE from the the three parties right now to lead his party and be Prime Minister and that says a lot about the state of british politics :(

I definitely wouldn't want Milibland being Prime Minister let alone Thatcher Junior :(

100% agree. Can't see anyone saving them. Can't see Brown resigning but may be proved wrong. Not sure if others will have the guts to stab him ion the back either.

2. Set a deadline for going - the Tony Blair option

3. An aggressive reshuffle

4. A defensive reshuffle

5. Unveil a radical new agenda - with Blairite policies

6. Unveil a radical new agenda - with redistributive policies

7. Tax cuts

9. A brilliant conference speech

Wonder which one(s) he will choose?

Poor bast*rd - he's the fall guy for the Blair fallout. He has to do something radical, yes, he has to set the Labour party focus back to the traditional Labour voter. All the floating Tories who supported Blair in 1997 have gone back to David Cameron, so it's time the Labour party re-assessed itself and got their voters back. They will still lose the next election but it'll be close at least.

Doing something about gas company profiteering would be a great start.

Can he survive? Yes

Will he survive? Very likely no.

To survive he would have to be very honest with the public and very honest with himself - something like a personal revelation. Admit many mistakes and turn tail of many many things.

Most of the policies of the last 10 years would have to be overturned (and publically declared a major mistake of untold proportions), especially those insane things done since he has been leader, many of which are almost impossible to undo(Northen Rock for example), in fact a great way to start would be to abolish any law made in the last 8 years. Still it's not impossible and the mess(or more correctly the trend) could be cleaned up in 18 months. It would be radical. Very radical in fact - like nothing seem in modern history and I doubt that the political will exists. Still it's possible even if very unlikely.

I agree - and if Labour suffers one of the biggest swing in British history in apparently their third safest seat*, what hope is there in the rest of the country. (There might not have been a big problem if there was a leadership challenge - but appearntly anyone who was interest was told to basically f*** off.)

* - In Scotland, anyway. But it was their 26th safest seat in the country.

>>All he ever wanted was to be Prime Minister, he can always say he achieved that, but is he likely to go down in history as the worst PM ever.

Nope. But history might forget him. He has the potential to be a continued disaster or set a new destiny. Sometimes when put to the test people get going, so I'm haven't written him off yet.

>>Will he be forced out by cabinet assassins?

Possible but not very likely.

>>Or will he hang on till 2010 and lose in an election, even if it means wipe out for Nu Labour.

There is so much possible that I hesitate to answer this question. My guess is that he will be out of office before 2010.

>>Or will he actually be decisive and resign.

I doubt he will resign until pushed.

>>What do you think will be the end game for Brown?

If its more of the same then he is in trouble.
