:o Fecking awesome  I wish it didn't end I was really glued and enjoying this episode.

10/10

Truly a masterpeice in its itself.

The ood will make a nice addition to the world of Dr. Who

The best episode to date, without a doubt. I'm lost for words for this episode as the effects were brilliant, and the story was nice and neat to follow, one of the scariest and fast packed action episode. Nice sci-fi episode.

Yes, I really enjoyed it, classic Dr Who! Good to see them away from Earth for a change!!

10/10

It was brilliant! Although it shared some similarities with the film 'Event horizon' but who cares? Fab episode! :D

Classic Dr Who, classic Sci-Fi.

These 45mins went very quickly, thanks to the Ood, the special effects & being off Planet Earth (hooray).

This episode reminded me of The Abyss movie for some reason.

9.5 out of 10.

Yes! I was wondering what it reminded me of!!

Very good episode as it had this air of suspense around the episode, and I was left wondering about what was gonna happen next to certain charchters. Poor Scootie.

Best episode so far, 10/10.

Very poor. The worst yet. I'm really starting to go off the Tennant episodes. I prefer the old Doctor Who's much more. I might not even bother watching it next week. I really can't stand Rose now, and he is so cocky and annoys me. And it was just generally disappointing what with all the talk of 'finally getting on earth' I hoped it would be good and exciting. The 'Ood' weren't that good either.

I thought it was excellent, and this is now my favourite of the series so far. It had plenty of action, suspense and really felt like a sci-fi story this week with it being set in space instead of Earth. I thought the Ood made marvelous editions to the Doctor Who world. Great cliffhanger.

It just gets better and better.

10/10 Can't wait for Part 2 next week.

awww... sorry you didnt rate it, ...

im 100% with the other comments here.... EXCELLANT! easily the best, getting off earth really wasnt that hard was it!!! lol..

it had everything the old (original-60's) dr who promised .... distant planets, ancient lost civilisations, scary dark places, space, futuristic settings, aliens...... this is exactly the recipe that made dr who what it was.. as a kid in the 60's there was a huge fascination with the space race, with the unknown, with the future (hey! im here now!!!lol) .. our young imaginations were all fired up with wonder and excitement at the prospect of alien life..

this is dr who at its very best...... more please!

I don't really think these new ones are like the old doctor who's. The old ones are much better.

but which[i/] old ones?.... dr who went through phases and was always at its best when it fired the imagination and not when it was earth based... all that c**p with the brigadeer was just awful, i couldnt abide bonnie langford or sylvester mccoy. davidson was weak too..

for me hartnell (dr who #1), troughton, pertwee and baker (tom) were the best when they LEFT earth and ended up on a spacecraft or planet years into the future..

You don't need to write doctor who no. 1 next to Hartnell's name, I do know who was who. I just think the old ones in general are better than the new, whether they are on earth or not. Why do you not like earth episodes anyway? We agree on something though, I can't stand Sylvester either lol. Davison wasn't weak though, he had some really good episodes and I like that even though he was the youngest Doctor he was still serious. He had the best regeneration scene too, and the Cybermen looked best in his era imo. They are just too metal now. I mean, in the early days they had lace up boots on lol.

It was finally good to see them get off the earth and it was a better story than most this series, but roping in 'Old Nick' seemed like a bit of a crock to me to be honest. Nothing to do with it soon being "AntiChrist Day" (6/6/2006) is it...? It's still relying too much on films for its plots - this one ripping off "Event Horizon" almost verbatim.....

Interesting ideas, but still too derivitive, and I'm still not totally convinced by David Tennant.....

6/10

A summary of my thoughts on what has been discussed so far:

Tennant and Davison are IMO the best Drs so far.

Eccelston and McCoy were utter pants.

Impossible Planet WAS a rip-off of Event Horizon.

It wasn't the best out of the new ones. I'm waiting for the Peter Kay episode.

Bonnie Langford should be banished never to return to the Who again.

In regards to Rose Tyler, I have loads of theories about her. After looking in to the Time Vortex is she now turning into a Time Lord?! ARGH! Please no....

Tennant and Davison are IMO the best Drs so far. - Totally disagree, both annoy the fukk out of me to be honest,  Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee were the daddies....

Eccelston and McCoy were utter pants. - Agree on McCoy, totally disagree on Eccleston, miles better than Tennant

Impossible Planet WAS a rip-off of Event Horizon. - Yup, totally with you there

It wasn't the best out of the new ones. I'm waiting for the Peter Kay episode. - Hm, could be a good one, but I still feel that the best episode of this series so far was the Madame de Pompadour one. The one episode where Tennant actually really acted the part and didn't constantly mug, screech or just generally be irritating...

Bonnie Langford should be banished never to return to the Who again. - I stopped watching Dr Who when that annoying ginger bint was on.... <_<

In regards to Rose Tyler, I have loads of theories about her. After looking in to the Time Vortex is she now turning into a Time Lord?! ARGH! Please no.... - I second that. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! :o

Tennant and Davison are IMO the best Drs so far. - Totally disagree, both annoy the fukk out of me to be honest, Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee were the daddies.... Oh, Tom Baker - K9 and the multicoloured scarf! I like Tom Baker but the fact that every (particularly Americans) think that his regeneration is the be all and end all of the whole IDEA of Dr Who just annoys the fukk (as you so eloquently put it..lol) out of me. I do think he's a good Dr though. Are you aware of his thoughts about small children and the Dr? I shall enlighten you if you ask. Anyhoo, I hope we both agree that Tom Baker is much better than Colin Baker?

Eccelston and McCoy were utter pants. - Agree on McCoy, totally disagree on Eccleston, miles better than Tennant. Really? I thought Eccleston was rather wooden. I think Tennant is amuch better actor all round cos he seems to have taken the Dr into a new kind of humour. I like the trendy-geek quality about him.

Impossible Planet WAS a rip-off of Event Horizon. - Yup, totally with you there Nuff Said.

The one episode where Tennant actually really acted the part and didn't constantly mug, screech or just generally be irritating... Again, it's the humour he's brought to the Dr. I thought the Madame de Pompadour was good... the horse made it. Nevertheless, my thoughts are still I want to see the Peter Kay one. Just for curiousity.

Bonnie Langford should be banished never to return to the Who again. - I stopped watching Dr Who when that annoying ginger bint was on.... I never even bothered. Just

In regards to Rose Tyler, I have loads of theories about her. After looking in to the Time Vortex is she now turning into a Time Lord?! ARGH! Please no.... - I second that. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! If you're up for it we should discuss our mutual hatred for this, away from the forum. Are there any Billie Piper fans around???

One thing I will agree on Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker are the best Doctors, I grew up watching them.

One question that I like to raise, talking of Jon Pertwee, will his son Sean Pertwee follow in his father's footsteps if David Tennant decided to hang his scarf. I think Sean Pertwee will make a good Dr. to be honest.

Sean Pertwee would be rather cool actually, certainly an improvement on campy Dave "the screecher" Tennant....

There's an air of barely suppressed violence and menace about Sean Pertwee, so he'd be a rather dark and broody Dr I'm thinking.....

Colin Baker was a tad underrated, I never really took to him when he was around, but looking at some of the episodes on DVD with the benefit of hindsight, he wasn't really that bad, far from being in the big leagues of Baker, Pertwee or Troughton though....

I'm pretty sure that Mr Baker does not like small children very much....  , but would like to know his opinions on the Dr.....

I never really liked that silly robot dog except when I was a kid, and I dont think Baker ever really liked it either.....

Sean Pertwee?! I thought we agreed there's been one too many Event Horizon references in Dr Who already?!

Also, about Tom Baker. Quite the opposite. I remember reading somewhere he quite liked the innocence of children around the Dr. The idea that when you see these people on TV, as a child you believe they are real. There IS a real Dr Who. Apparently, he used to swap his beer for an orange juice if a child was near - just to keep the illusion up for them.

EDIT: PS: Stop bad mouthing the Tennant! LMFAO!
