Why is Dido expected to automatically have a huge album. Shes the female version of James Blunt ie. dull and boring. I'll have no interest in her album.

However, bring on U2, Keane, Razorlight, Britney, Kelly, Take That, Anastacia, Pink.

Also are Nelly Furtado or Whitney Houston releasing this autumn?

How on earth can someone say Dido is dull and await for a Take That, Pink, Anastacia, Britney, U2´s albums... U2´s last album was pathetic (altough I love their older albums). Plus, even if Dido is "dull" that doesn´t keep her from having massive sales. She´s sold almost 6 million copies in UK with just 2 albums released. How many artists do that? I think there is no other artist in UK history to sell 6 million with its first 2 albums. 1 million for this album is a given, even if it underperforms a lot.

I wonder if a little poll could be done to see which act is most hated on BJ - would Take That or McFly come out on top?

I can't wait for Take That's album to be released actually - just hope its as good as BW. Dido on the other hand - makes me want to :puke2: :puke2: :puke2: :puke2: Someone said earlier that she will have a massive success with her long- -awaited album because of her similarity to James Blunt. I actually think this is an injustice to James Blunt (and I can't stand him either).

Don't worry Norma, I'm sure Take That are nowhere near the most hated band on Buzzjack :P

Quite easily actually Janet ... because Dido is terminally dull! Take That, Pink, Anastacia, Britney, Girls Aloud, Sugababes, and a load of others don't take themselves seriously - they bring fun into music. I'll agree with you on U2 though.

Dido, not dull? HA. Understatement of the year.

It always amazes me to why Dido and James Blunt are so successful, they both have one thing in common though, they're both bores.

I doubt kelly Clarkson will release her album this year.. i hope that it will sell alot tho but i doubt it =[ Most of the bands listed will get good chart positions but won't sell huge amounts, oasis will sell alot... Dido should sell well but she'll have to promote quite abit i think.. she has been away for a while! I hope that anastacia can have a hit with her new album here, and pink will sell well, but over a longer period of time, rather than instant! Won't the pussycat dolls new album be out in october too?
Oh and i want Girls aloud and the Sugas to wait till that start of next year or maybe Dec so that they can sell well!
I reckon Pink & Katy Perry will do well. Both first singles are really catchy. Dido should do ok, along with Take That & Oasis. Anastacia could do quite well too, depending on the success of the first single.
If Take That release a NEW album then considering the last one shifted over 2 million including over 400k in the week before Christmas 2006 it's conceivable they may be a threat to Duffy – can’t believe no one else has picked up on them!

It’s true Dido's first single is gonna go a long way in determining how much and how fast the album will sell. If it's a 4/5 week No1 then the album will cruise over 2 million copies by Christmas.

I think Take That will definately be a big seller.

With the sales of the last album i wouldn't rule out them being a contender for

the year's best seller.

They'll definately be amongst the Top 10 of the year no mistake about that.

So many great stuff I want to buy :o

And how does it makes her terminally dull??? By not being a local UK act making discartable pop that will be forgotten in 15 minutes... she is aclaimed worldwide and has released 2 of the best albums of this decade. She is critically aclaimed in places where people have not even heard about Girls Aloud or Sugababes.

That´s just personal opinion anyway. Dido has nothing to do with James Blunt by the way. But I mean in relative terms. One who likes Pink Floyd or AC/DC can say that Dido is simply dull and boring. But come one, somebody who likes Pink, Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Britney, is not in a serious position to say anything about a serious pop artist - that is Dido. There is no dispute that she is musically superior then teenage discartable pop.

I know not many people are gonna count much on her but JoJo is also expecting to release an album in the autumn :)

It'll be lucky to clear 100k by the year end... -_-

:manson: Utter nonsense. Since WHEN did a little mainstream crossover success automatically render an artist as boring or taking himself or herself too seriously?! Didn’t stop the Beatles or Elvis or how they’re regarded now did it?

Solo mainstream female artists can sell MASSIVE amounts of albums, in the mid to late 90's it was Céline Dion ansd in the early 00's it was Dido and now seemingly Amy Winehouse and Duffy. I know I'd rather listen to White Flag a zillion times before listening to the Titanic theme ect. I guess poor Duffy will be consigned to yawndom if she DARES to have a second successful album...

One who likes Pink Floyd or AC/DC can say that Dido is simply dull and boring. But come one, somebody who likes Pink, Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Britney.

If you don't mind me saying Janet - but this is a bit snobbish! I've got Pink Floyd in my record collection, together with the Beatles, Madonna, Wishbone Ash, TheEagles, Stevie Wonder, the Stones etc and they sit happily alongside Take That, The Arctic Monkeys, The Kaisers, Gorillaz, etc. It's not fair to say that just because people like Sugababes, Girls Aloud, etc - they don't have a valid viewpoint on music in general.

Incidentally - although we both loved Pink Floyd years ago ... listening to Dark Side of the Moon in the car a few days ago ... my husband said - 'oh for god's sake put the Gorillaz on'.

You've lost me now ... what the heck does mainstream crossover success have to do with the price of blue beans? I do realise that Josh, myself and others who find Dido as interesting as Marilyn Monroe would have been of interest to a eunuch should have put IMO after our statements!

It is just a matter of opinion but IMO Dido is boring. Is that better?

and don't count mariah out yet she will re-release her current album emc² so that'll probably also see the light of the charts again
I don't think so. 'I Kissed A Girl', the title itself is just novelty & controversial (even though it really isn't, but I just guess some people just love a bit of girl on girl action), and it's probably the only reason why it's doing so well. I doubt whether her 2nd single will go Top 20.

Hot N Cold is a guaranteed top 10 :P

Kelly Clarkson might still release this year. Amazon.com have it listed for a November 18th release

I've never heard it so I can't comment.

@ Janets Nipple - You talk about Dido as if she's fukking god. And it wouldn't surprise me if Britney's 'Blackout' was a million times better than Dido's album in terms of quality.
