So you'd rather let him back onto the streets and access to internet sites where he can meet with more underage girls?

I would hope he has learnt that doing that is wrong. He is on the sex offenders register and so shall be checked by police to ensure he is not doing this.

As if that's going to stop someone who in their mind thinks that they have done nothing wrong themselves..

Oh please, dont argue bloody semantics.... Children CANNOT give their consent ffs..... Therefore anything done to them by some old pervert like Gadd is by its very nature, RAPE, maybe they didn't say "no" as such, but Christ, these kids were bloody TERRIFIED you idiot, what fukkin' choice did they have....? Rape is coercion, it is manipulation, it is abuse... Dont try and tell me that all three elements did not factor here, and especially DONT try to sugar-coat what this vile b/astard did to these children... I'm really sure that Gadd would've backed off if they'd said no wouldn't he....?

It was RAPE, end of story....

Oh, pardon me for introducing facts into the discussion. I really must learn to rely more on knee-jerk prejudice.

Well there's no doubt that this vile horrible man should be locked away forever and he's a danger to children, but the British people don't make things any worse. He knows he's despised by people, so what does he do? He plays on it. He probably wants to be even more hated than he already is. It doesn't make things any better when you get $h!t like News of The World advertising the fact that if you know where Gary Glitter is, give them a call. :manson: ffs people just never learn. People start to take the law into their own hands and end up hurting some poor old man who just happens to look a little bit like Glitter.

At least in Britain there'll be less chance of him getting his hands on little girls. Infact i'd say it'd be pretty much impossible for him, unlike if he was still abroad.

but scott is right, ten year olds cannot consent and it IS statatury rape...

EXACTLY!..... he is in denial that he has done anything wrong....

but scott is right, ten year olds cannot consent and it IS statatury rape...

Yeah. Statutory Rape is rape at the end of the day, the key word being "rape" here... And frankly what Glitter did wasn't even that.. Statutory Rape is classed as consenting or unwitting sex with an adolescent minor.... Glitter's victims were both 10 years old, not adolescents at all, but children.... They weren't 15-year olds that he picked up in some nightclub, and he's not some 16 or 17 year old lad with a girlfriend who's 14 or 15, he is a nasty, dirty old c/unt who procured, manipulated, coerced, and RAPED two little girls very deliberately, knowing damn fine what age they were, pretending to be a friend or an "uncle"....

Sorry for my "knee-jerk" reaaction, but I cannot abide people who try to soft-soap what these dirty perverts do, the damage they cause to children both physically and psychologically.... Some of these children never get over what happens to them, and suffer depression, anxiety attacks, some even commit or attempt suicide (someone I knew did exactly that, she was abused by an uncle as a kid, and just couldn't cope with it, she attempted suicide three times, and even though in a loving relationship now, she still finds it hard to reconcile....); how DARE anyone even suggest that what they experience is anything other than rape. Rape is a lot more than just a physical attack.....

I would certainly be worried about something like this happening tbh.... But, Gadd is pretty unmistakeable with that crazy beard of his.... There aint many that could be mistaken for him..

Still, it's typical of the News of the Screws though.....

Of course the possibility of this would be avoided if the Vietnamese had just given the bugger an actual LIFE sentence..... I really cant stand the fact that his "celeb" status seemed to afford him special treatment.... They'd hardly have been as forgiving if it was an ordinary person.... -_-

indeed this is worrying .

that beard could be gone i a matter of minutes...

he is vile but so are lynch mobs.

He's got way too big an ego to just hide away though mate... Seriously, on some level, I reckon he's just loving this, c/unts like him get off on the attention.... Should've just left the fukker to rot in a Vietnamese prison. Forgotten... Now that would've just killed him...

One thing still puzzles me about this. In the 1970s he had loads of teenage girl fans. Not a single one of them has made any sort of allegation against him despite the fact that certain tabloids would no doubt pay good money for the story. That suggests he didn't even try and fondle any of those fans in an inappropriate manner.

As for his conviction in Vietnam, he wasn't charged with having sex.

his daughter made a damning statement after he was caught out with kiddy porn on his pc...

maybe his tastes in girls changed with age, it seems that most paedos are old..

he may not have been charged with having intercourse, but dont you think that molesting children is 'rape'? id suggest you find accounts of people who have been abused (ive had first hand accounts, plus ive heard them on tv) the psychological scaring and mental damage upon losing their innocence to something they dont understand IMHO is rape, the rape of innocence.

dictionary definition ..... "forecable sexual intercourse without freely given consent ; violent assult or interference"

i think that covers it.

He's apparently been seen in Fareham with another man in Sainsbury's and also in a luxury car showroom, enquiring about purchasing an expensive car. Has money then.

You know how stupid the British public are though... If there's a rumour about Glitter in the area, then every poor bugger with a beard will be under threat. Where I live, there were rumours of Maxxine Carr living near-by... and what do you know? Some poor lass who looks the slightest bit like her was kicked to $h!t. It's not on tbh... we as the public shouldn't take the law into our hands, and it doesn't make it any easier with $h!t like NOTW and The Sun basically encouraging it.

He has served his sentence however overly lenient that sentence was so in the eyes of the law he is a free man

Whilw I am not for one moment defencing him I don't understand why there is such a media witchunt and tabloids encouraging vigilante behaviour against Glitter when Jonathan King who did worse than Glitter and with multiple kids has just been left alone after his sentence to lead a normal life

One thing still puzzles me about this. In the 1970s he had loads of teenage girl fans.

He's not into TEENAGE girls though is he....? He's likes 'em younger..... <_< :puke2:

Oh, believe me we've had a barney about that vile pervert as well on this site.... He's as bad... Yeah, he does seem to have gone off the radar doesn't he....? I actually watched that documentary of his a couple of years back when he was trying to justify himself... He's another creepy, deluded scumbag who seems to think he's done nowt wrong....

But Johnathan King's victims had at least reached puberty, not that this exactly excuses his actions, he's another manipulator and abuser of trust....

interesting point craig...

indeed glitter IS getting far more bile and hate aimed in his direction then other paedos, celebs or not.

but i think its because glitter was SOOOO popular. he was something of a glam icon, not only with (my) generation, but subsequent student based fans. people have never liked king, people did like glitter, its this betrayal that has angered so many.

perhaps theres something in the saying 'the higher they go, the harder they fall'.

Could be.. But I never really liked Gary Glitter either much, not even when I was a kid.... Obviously I heard "Leader of the Gang" and his other hits, but I always thought "MEH", The KLF made good use of that Glitter sample on "Doctorin' The Tardis" though....

Spot on about Johnathan King, he's always come across as being a total tw@t....

My first memories of King was that show he did, "Entertainment USA", and I just thought - "who IS this prat....?". I liked the show, but didn't really like him.....

Friend: 'Distressed Glitter needs help'

Gary Glitter's last remaining friend has claimed that the former glam rock star needs immediate hospital treatment.

Gordon Buchanan, 54, allowed Glitter to stay at his home in Hampshire after he arrived back in the UK on August 22. The disgraced musician had been released from a prison in Vietnam days earlier after serving a sentence for abusing two girls.

Glitter decided to leave his friend's home when his hiding place was discovered four days later. Buchanan has not seen him since and is haunted by fears that he will commit suicide.

"I'm not sure he's going to live through this. I saw a very distressed person," Buchanan told The Mirror. "A little bit more of a push and I see what people really want, Gary will be in a box. He is not a well person and his hearing is rapidly deteriorating - he's terrified he won't be able to sing any more. I was his last sanctuary, he truly has nothing.

"He really needs to go into hospital and only then will the truth be worked out and the paedophile subject matter addressed."

Buchanan also suggested that the 64-year-old singer, whose real name is Paul Gadd, needs help to deal with his split personality.

"His good side is Gary Glitter, the rocker that everyone knows and millions used to love. The sick side is Paul Gadd," he said. "I've never met Paul his alter ego, I've always called him Gary. Gary's grappling with the darker side of Paul Gadd. Deep down he is a sick child."
