Posted August 18, 200816 yr http://i31.tinypic.com/11jyatv.png Chart Commentary A surprise no.1 in the form of Kings Of Leon has violently shoved Biffy Clyro from the shiny, jewel-encrusted (though sadly non-existant) TOTB throne, therefore ending their solid 4 week reign over the chart. 'Sex On Fire' isnt, as the name suggests, a grainy portugese porn flick filmed in a dark basement, but it is one hell of a tune, and could very well end up being placed in the top 5 number ones of 2008 (if ever a list was to be compiled). The sexy fireness of KOL and the Mountainous Biffy's domination of the upper quadrant of my chart means poor DIOY,Y? have to settle for a bronze this week (not to worry, its something Britain have got used to doing in the olympics), and Mystery Jets slip to 5th, just below another surprise new entry courtesy of another scottish band making their TOTB debut, Glasvegas. 'Daddy's Gone' is usually the sort of song i'd hate but oddly I actually quite like it, which is represented in its 4th-placed new entry. With the release date looming, however, will 4th be its chart peak???????????questionmark. The bottom 5 has rather an aesthetically pleasing shape to it as well, with big names like We Are Scientists, Bloc Party and Vampire Weekend still going strong. For Young Knives and Infadels, however, the future looks quite bleak based on the obscene number of new entries that have been flying in over the past few weeks. To fit with the distinct Scottish feel of this weeks chart, "I cannae keep up, ken".
