I agree with Jack. Some people are just taking this too seriously. Mushy and the rest do have a point but seriously guys, just let it be.

His fanbase was built around the insane popularity of the show, its easy to get hits when you have a huge fanbase which will buy your material whether the song is good or bad, whether he's fired his manager or not. But fair play to him.

if more threads on bj was like this bj would be a FAR more popular place! this type of thread is what makes good forums good!

Also does anyone else find that the mastering on "Up" is appalling?! When I play it it's sooo much louder than any other songs I played, and it's all distorted (and yes I have the CD-Rip Promo thing)

On the Will Young front...

He is manufactured, there's no way you can say he's not.

He doesn't write all of his songs, infact he just gives voice to Eg White's songs IMO.

I think you have to concede that point 'Wicky..... Will was manufactured.... But, credit to him, he sort of did a "Monkees" (manufactured '60s boy band who became famous through a TV show...), and told his paymasters to get stuffed..... Not that it quite resulted in something as mind-frazzling as "Head" :lol: , but still, at least he eventually showed some bottle.....

Well that was my point.. he WAS manufactured but the way he won lasting respect was because of how he dealt with Cowell and instead got the control and he has had four pretty good albums from it!

 

Referring back to The Saturdays I would be saying the same kind of thing if I liked their two songs but the fact that I just don't like either song just makes me all the more baffled that so many people have become subjected to the hype so much! Even Girl Thing were better and they are basically the same only Girl Thing were actually slightly better imo!

 

I'm suprised this place doesn't come up into google when you type in The Saturdays in considering both threads are in the top five threads in the pop forum of all time :o I dunno whether to use this thread for promotion considering how it's ended up again though tbh.

THIS is why they are, and deserve to do well. no-one can say they arent talented live.
