Gosh - That's awful! :(

The chorus is just about passable, but the rest of it.. oh DEAR (especially that grating guitar effect).

 

The last time I was this disappointed was the first time I heard “Mercury” with its Ground Force brass band averageness, but Intimacy was surprisingly good so maybe there are just trolling us again. Or not. : (

HYMNS is out 29/01 next year. 15 tracks on the album too. :o Too long to wait tho :(

I'm surprised how much I like it. I've listened to it once and it's immediately more tolerable than anything off their last album was. Still, hardly close to being anywhere near their best.

It just comes as a band completely bereft of ideas who feel the need to continue making the same music they made years ago.

Considering they started the Intimacy era with Mercury, they may still have plenty to offer on the album.

Ugh that awful guitar effect yet again. Apart from that though, I think I actually quite like this?

Definitely the best out of the three we've heard so far. This one might actually reach a third listen :o

I have literally the same opinions regarding the new songs ;_; That's what i call mental connection in our bloc party (they deserve no capitalisation for this pathetic 2016 era) loondom <3

that last minute guitar track in 'only he can heal me' is not bad at all actually!

 

'different drugs' almost gives me goosebumps but those f***ing awful standard drums! ugh. almost ruined the song. the rest of the track is wonderful. even the chipmunk effect i don't care about.

 

in general this is crap and i probably won't ever listen to it.
