Fan Mr Obama, 47, has asked the 21-year-old singer to record a one-off track as the theme to his election campaign. Devon-born Joss is currently in the studio getting the song ready for November’s election battle with Republican senator JOHN McCAIN. Perfect Democrat candidate Mr Obama approached her personally because he was impressed by her appeal to both black and white voters in America. A source said: “Joss is a big supporter of Barack Obama and was very excited to be asked to do this for him. “He sent a personal message asking her to get on board. “He has always admired her music and thinks she is the perfect choice because of her unique appeal to black and white voters. “She believes he is going to be the first black American president and she is honoured to be a part of that.” Joss is a household name in the US, where she spends up to nine months a year. Advertisement She is understood to be focusing her career there after her last album Introducing Joss Stone flopped in the UK. The album entered the charts at No12 here, but dropped out after only four weeks. Earlier this year Cadbury chose her to front new adverts for Flake chocolate bars. Mr Obama is also supported by R ’n’ B and hip hop artists ALICIA KEYS and JAY-Z, who both dedicated songs to him. But last week he slammed a controversial recording by gangsta rapper LUDACRIS. The track Politics as Usual called HILLARY CLINTON a b**ch and said McCain did not belong in “any chair unless he’s paralysed”.

August 20, 200816 yr I really dont get why famous people taking sides in politic. I dont get how would that affect my political views. They can bring back Elvis but if I have different political view that shouldnt change my mind. I think people should go and vote for someone they think will be good and not because of how many famous people id backing him/her up. Its like that all over the world. but its just not ok. Politic people and music/theater/movie people should all play their own parts. If you're an artist and I like the stuff you do, you're political views dont affect me.
