Posted August 24, 200816 yr From the MIRROR, so take it with a pinch of salt... Girl’s Aloud to audition for sixth member Pop sensations Girls Aloud are to recruit a sixth member through a TV talent show. The girl band will audition thousands of hopefuls as part of an X Factor-style series to be screened next year. All five members will form the judging panel and pick a girl to join them on stage for a live show. The band - formed during ITV reality series Pop Stars: The Rivals - are considering making the winner a permanent “understudy”. A tv insider revealed: “The girls have never forgotten that reality TV gave them their break. Now they want to give someone else the chance to enjoy a taste of the success they have enjoyed. “The winner will get to perform with the group on stage during a one-off concert, but the girls hope they’ll be able to discover a hidden talent who could join the band as a fully paid-up member. “The girls have a huge amount of commitments outside the band. It makes sense to look for someone who can stand in if one of them can’t make a show.” A band source confirmed the girls were in talks with a production company to do the show but said a deal was still to be negotiated with a TV station. Well, doesnt look like properly confirmed or anything, plus it looks like it would more be like a PCD talent show, ie no entry in the band for the winner. In other press news (that made me laugh), Charlotte Church has a go at Cheryl for being c**p on the X-Factor and for being cheated by Ashley... Oh and she says she would never get Cheryl on her show because she's boring (as if Cheryl would like to be invited there lol) -_- Well, she apparantly is the one who has nothing else to say than slagging Cheryl off as usual, that makes her look a bit obsessed with her really, but hey, maybe it's just the pregnancy that turns her mental (but still, it's not like she's not used to be fat). Anywaaaaay... Edited August 30, 200816 yr by BJBB_Bertie
August 24, 200816 yr it all sounds like a load of rubbish, GA have always been a solid unit, its those 5 or nothing.
August 24, 200816 yr Oh my god. The whole show would be pointless anyway if the only prize after months of auditioning was a one-off performance. I recon if it does come to fruition, it'll be because Nadine one of the members plans to leave.
August 24, 200816 yr I know a girl who has just won a singing contest yesterday (judged by Louis Walsh) and he said im going to try and make you the 6th girls aloud member. Could it be possibly true. I really, really hope not.
August 24, 200816 yr Nah, i blame Cheryl - she's the only one who is signed to a contract to be somewhere the other girls dont need to be. Edited August 24, 200816 yr by coolnav
August 24, 200816 yr Author Erm can you all calm down? There's noone to blame here for now, since it's probably bull$h!t! And if it's true it looks like it would only be a show to raise their profile and in the end the winner would never make it into the band (just like the PCD have done several time, do you remember Asia someone?).
August 24, 200816 yr Alright Bertie!! No-one wasnt calm, it was all a bit of a joke. I'd just prefer they didnt do the show though.
August 24, 200816 yr Well technically Asia would have been in PCD if she hadn't "turned it down" although robyn probably didnt want her in the group either way... I'm not liking this a all. The only way I can see it happening would be if one of the girls were leaving the group and the rest would be looking for a replacement. I hope not though.
August 24, 200816 yr I am feeling hugely defensive right now, if it ain't broke you're completely daft if you try to fix it. I reckon this is untrue myself.
August 25, 200816 yr A load of balls and cocks <_< The press have made up so many split stories up they're trying another angle out now as they have always been WRONG -_-
August 27, 200816 yr Girls Aloud have dismissed claims that they are to choose a new member via an X Factor-style reality TV show. The Sunday Mirror had suggested that the group was to hold auditions for a girl to join them for a live show with the possibility of becoming a permanent addition to the lineup. However, the band rubbished the stories in a statement on their website, saying: "These reports could not be more wrong. "Papers often get things wrong but this one should win some sort of award!' Thank goodness
