Wow it seems Mcfly probs won't fall much now then probs 15 tommorow or maybe they will stay where they have been my guess is as good as new

Last night McFly were on ITV's Al Murray Pub Landlord Chat show.

They were on Paul O Grady yesterday too and performed it, plus were on TMI this morning. I suppose they must have been the reasons it's gone up.

I hope it does bring them higher than 17 on the proper charts tomorrow.

The charts confuse me a lot, does this mean she will be in the official top 40 tomorrow? (I know the #4 position is for itunes only and that she wont be in the top 40 at #4 yet, they dont confuse me that much  )

I doubt she will be top 40 tomorrow. I think the chart should update every two hours and when it does it shows what was bought most in those two hours? So she isn't the 4th (now 2nd) most downloaded song this week as there were all the previous updates without her already. I don't know if that really helps as I don't fully understand it myself.

Pink UP to No.1 :cheer:

:o That is fantastic! Top 10 tomorrow, #1 next week!

Hmm...I don't think it will be top 10 at all. She's only been in the top 10 on iTunes for about 18 hours which can't be that many sales, I think she should end up in the top 75 though, possibly low top 40.

Top 30 at least for P!nk tomorrow, surely?

#1 next week for sure. :D

Oh you're probably right actually, Faith Hill was high up on iTunes for the Sunday and Monday and she was on 5.6k in the first midweeks so P!nk will probably have sold about the same by midnight.

Does anyone know where Sarah Whatmore is with her Smile single she's just released through itunes?

Will this track look set to hit the Top 40 on Radio One this weekend?

Sadly (as I think it is rather good) not, as it has not made the iTunes Top 120 at all this week.

LOL. You're not really a chart expert :)

I think she will be between #30 and 40 tomorrow on the official chart, and probably number 1 next week.

Normally I'd say Yes. But you have to take into account two other singles.

Firstly, Oasis new single is released & if it sells half of the 75K Physical first week sales that Lyla did, before digital sales are added then P!nk could have a battle on her hands.

Secondly, the new Killers single is released on downloads on 30th September, and if anything it is likely to sell more copies than the Kings Of Leon single sold in its first week.

Therefore I think P!nk will need to sell a minimum of 50K+ to grab the #1 spot, but seeing how quickly it has climbed to the summit of the iTunes chart then I suspect it will still be favourite to be #1 next Sunday.

People get wrong with the way Itunes is working.

Every update show not how much a song has sold since the last update but for the last 24h or 48h (or maybe even more). That's why it takes a while for songs to reach their peak position, because if there's an update 2 hours after a song has been added, this song will only have sales for 2 hours while for others songs the last 24h (or so) are taken into account.

For example let's say a song AA is selling a constant amount of 100 copies an hour on Itunes and has been added ages ago.

An other song BB have just been added at midnight and is selling 500 copies an hour (so 5 times what AA sells every hour).

-- An update is published at midnight :

AA appears (with sales of 24x100=2.400 for the last 24 hours, from midnight to midnight).

BB does not appear because it's just been added.

-- An other update is published at 2am.

AA appears (with sales of 24x100=2.400 for the last 24 hours, from 2am yesterday to 2am now).

BB appears too but with only 2x500=1.000 sales for the last 24 hours - because it's only been available for the last 2 hours.

So AA is charting higher than BB even if BB is selling more at the moment.

-- An other update is published at 5am.

Over the last 24 hours (from 5am yesterday to 5am now), AA has sold 2.400 downloads (100 an hour as we said).

And BB has sold 2.500 copies over the same period (5x500 copies since it's only been available for the last 5 hours only).

BB is taking over AA and so it is finally charting higher than AA!

This is confusing, even more in English, but I hope I made a point

Yep, Bertie's very right. P!nk taking 36 hours to make #1 doesn't mean that before this evening she wasn't the biggest-seller over any given 1-hour timeframe for example. It means they average a longer time-frame...
