I love the picture, I'm sure the font will look better on the actual cd

I know its not a great cover but some of you are going a little overboard. I mean its a cover, how many bad things can be said?

Yeah just go to the Sugababes forum and you will see how many bad things can be said about a cover! This is EXACTLY like the Sugababes album cover - GREAT Picture but awful font and Positiong of the title!

 

But people keep going on about their faces and its quite obvious that the entire thing has been stretched or something.

 

I mean if i got a photo of anyone here and stretched, you'd all look weird. But the important thing is, it wont look like that on the actual cd.

How IS the picture great exactly? It has no relation to the style/styling of the song? They're stood behind a busy background. None of the outfits match in any way and it looks like a picture taken of a girl band from the late 1990s! I don't see how the picture 'qualifies' as amazing in the slightest :(

They don't in this picture. Look at their heads? You think they look attractive?

 

They normally do but their faces look deformed in this pic.

The picture is stretched, thats why the cover and the band themselves look odd - end of.

 

 

In other news 'The Promise' is no.6 on Capital FM's Most Wanted!!

I've got the limited edition picture disc and guess what is the b-side ... 'Girl Overboard' Live from the O2!!! I imagine that will be the same for the actual single eh? Could help them sell alot more as sooo many people wanted it to be a single so this comes second best i suppose.

 

And btw, could anyone tell me what a picture disc actually is?! I just went on a kind of crazy spree and bought one from the official shop and a really rare promo poster of Tangled Up to put up in my common room!!

Just discovered this song, thanks to a blogger from Washington D. C.

 

I'm not a Girls Aloud fan, but I have nothing but respect for their success so far. Am posting in here just to say that I LOVE The Promise!! :D My favourite Girls Aloud single so far, and I haven't really like anything much since their first 3 releases.

 

I hope this does really well in the charts. I'll be downloading it when it's out.

And besides that, i stand by both posts. The person i was referring to was going overboard with the GA cover and my post about the sugababes was the demise of them as a group in everything, not just the cover. I would not say that an act was not what they used to be just because of one single cover lol. Which brings me around to my first point again, its only a cover.

The release of the promise is now the 20th of october, the digital release is sunday the 19th and the x-factor performance is the 18th.

 

Other promo dates have been added on the official.

BIG news, i wonder why they've moved everthing forward?! Im loving the fact that the download is available 3 hours after X Factor! But the only promo date in the week of the 24th is Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on 19th (it says 20th on the official, but thats a Saturday!) and T4 on 26 (the day of the chart announcement?!)... not good news.

 

I wonder how this affects the album and i wonder why GMTV is down for 27th Oct and This Morning is down for 5th Nov?! Unless they want to keep the promo up for two weeks at no.1/top 3 hence GMTV and the album is released Monday 3rd Nov (instead 10th) and thats what they're promoting on This Morning?

 

I reckon the only reason for this move forward is for the girls to have a better chance at bagging no.1 (although X Factor's loyalty isnt great for Leon - one week at no.1?!) and due to the change it must mean the album is released a week earlier than planned.

Those are the threats that the girls have for no.1 on 20th, no songs released (physically) the same week as 'The Promise' will give them trouble IMO. The ones in italics are what could be no.1 and stop the girls from bagging it. The rest could give them the trouble of even being top 3 (but i think thats near to impossible with X Factor and the Sunday d/l).
