July 12, 20168 yr Author Really hope this can get through despite your semi being very dance and you not being sure on what to send  At least you have me in it at least :P Thanks, as you know I like your song this month too, so I hope I can squeeze it into my points (I haven't heard the rest of the songs yet). And I'm glad Séyetana is in our semi as well!
July 17, 20168 yr Author So it's the fate of this song I'm waiting to be revealed toneet: kuvST3wGCG8 Occasionally I dabble with rock in the contest, but it tends to be in the spin-offs - I sent The Cranberries - Zombie to the 2015 Halloween spin-off (can't believe I was so cheap tbh), Beangrowers - Not in a Million Lovers (probably more indie/indie pop or something, but rock influences) to the first Worldvision contest and Holdviola's beautiful folk rock song 'Vágta' to the second Worldvision contest. This, however, is the first time I've gone for a song quite like this in the main contest. Fingers crossed! MICHAEL WHERE ARE U --- And the following is what I sent to the Reinventions spin-off: M-Rf57mqGaQ I looked through many songs in my iTunes and Youtube playlists, but nothing felt right to send to this out of those. So I looked online and found this incredibly beautiful track by former Terra Avium entrants Owsey & Resotone. It samples vocals from Ellie Goulding's 'Lights' and t.A.T.u.'s 'All the Things She Said', with completely new production as the instrumental. A very dreamy, ambient piece of work and I hope it can do somewhat well ^_^
July 17, 20168 yr Author Got announced as a qualifier, so pleased  First time in the final since 'Alchemy'!
September 2, 20168 yr Author In BJSC 86, Blackbriar's 'Until Eternity' came 21st in the final (exactly in the middle of the scoreboard) with 169 points. Owsey & Resotone - Broke My Promise & Stared to the Sea, which I have just listened to once again, gave Deandria their third spin-off top 10, following the second place success of 'Zombie' in the 2015 Halloween contest and 'Vágta' which came 10th in Worldvision II. Two of those spin-off top 10s were in a row in fact. Can we make it three in a row with the next spin-off? (instrumentals if I'm not mistaken... much pressure to choose something great for that one!) BJSC 86 produced several songs that I regularly go back to and can see myself doing so in future as well, the most notable being yet another great Persephonia entry - Aron Can's 'Með Mér' to which we awarded 18 points in the final and 8 in the semi. We moved on to give them high points again in the next contest where Deandria's 12 points in the final went to their entry 'Water Frozen' by TWRR. Among others, Fljótavik's entry for 86, the fab 'Anekdoter' by Hanna Järver, which incidentally was a potential of ours for a brief time if I remember correctly, is another one that I find myself listening to a lot lately. Our 12 in the semi that contest unfortunately DNQd, it was Deja - Luststruck from Varakë which was so lush it completely lushed its way into our hearts <3 This was our entry for the 87th regular edition. Even though this one brought me back to DNQing, it felt good to send it for obvious reasons, with it being the first ever song by an Estonian artist I've sent. It was actually between this and one other track by an Estonian artist, but this one took the edge~ uWEMFoU3eTw 'Move' DNQd in 28th place with 32 points but received a TWELVE from Fljótavik! An error on the scoreboard screenshot for semi 2 didn't record this in the column that notes how many 12s a song received, instead indicating that it received one 10 which wasn't the case. Points however seemed to all be counted correctly, this was just a tiny error on that part of the scoreboard. In this contest our 18 went to Jadakissnia's wonderful instrumental 'Arcade Summer' by FM-84, which went from four points in the semi to max points in the final. This was our first 18 awarded to that country, having received two 15s from us previously for 'Virtual Paradise' and 'Sentient'. It's also notable that Deandria has pointed its way into the top 10 of the countries who have given Jadakissnia points. We stand there at #9. For the second contest in a row however, our 12 in the semi DNQd. This time it was the misfortune of #00274E with Noréll's 'Howl' that we mourned. The song was the highest pointed DNQ. Looking forward to the semis of the next contest to kick off now as I'm sorta itching for some new discoveries and ranking some tunes! :music:

September 6, 20168 yr Author Presenting our entry for BJSC 88! Belgian band Maya's Moving Castle with 'When You Wish Upon the Stars'. mIz90rcReCQ Not going to lie and say I'm 100% perfectly happy with this entry because I'm not. First of all, I can't stand the video, but I really liked the song on the day of confirming and decided to go for it! Also the song itself doesn't excite me as much as it did initially, however it's got some good moments and I still enjoy the sort of mysterious aura about it and the chorus is pretty fine. Way more excited about listening to other people's songs and ranking them this month, than I am about my own entry. However, we still very much hope to be back in the final with Maya and the gang.
September 21, 20168 yr Author Maya's Moving Castle DNQd in 24th place with 39 points, including a total of three 8s from Aeyundoré Summericia, Cumulonimbia and Medhelnia! Cheers you guys <3 The song received some rather excellent feedback after the plug.dj session and after it was announced as a DNQ, so I'm glad it left some sort of positive impact on a few of you ^_^ I talked about how I wasn't that into my own entry, but I've been listening to it a lot and I do like it, even the video has grown on me a bit, I guess I was just a bit disappointed in my own decision of sending it for a short while, but I don't think it's a bad entry at all. The 88th edition was won by the Deandrian 8 pointer, N DNTN with the fab 'Shhh' by Raye, an artist who incidentally received our full 18 points exactly a year ago when Jukianië sent a song called 'Bet U Wish'. Our 18 one year, the winner the next... Our 18 THIS contest also came top 10, it was Pupok with Claudia Kane's haunting 'Einstein'. Pupok received our full points in the movies spin-off previously, with the track 'Wish (Komm Zu Mir)', now this has translated into the main contest too. One of our favourite BJSC countries Persephonia (who we rather shockingly didn't point in this contest, unfortunately the track didn't click with us as well as we would've liked) is currently hosting the long-awaited instrumentals spin-off, for which we are rather excited and intrigued for it kicking off properly. Can't say too much about our entry yet obviously, but we think it's beautiful. Looking forward to hearing all the tracks, we are confident enough that there will be some interesting diversity!
September 21, 20168 yr Maya's Moving Castle was a wonderful entry so a huge side eye to BuzzJack for yet another amazing Deandria DNQ this year. :( You were ranked 4th for me after my semi 2 listen so a very good chance of a point swap had you made the final. Damn it!
September 21, 20168 yr Author Maya's Moving Castle was a wonderful entry so a huge side eye to BuzzJack for yet another amazing Deandria DNQ this year. :( You were ranked 4th for me after my semi 2 listen so a very good chance of a point swap had you made the final. Damn it! Thank you Jade, I was kinda shocked at how well it was received by the people who did like it! Maybe because I wasn't that huge on it myself at the time... It was one of those slightly impulsive entries that I went for to not get stuck in a rut of what to send again haha (and it happened to be my favourite "BJSC-worthy" discovery at the time). Yay for fourth in your ranking! Hope to swap points in the instrumentals spin-off maybe, although I'm not really sure if you'll like the entry I've sent haha. Also intrigued to hear that Icelandic country song in the country spin-off :P (thinking of maybe changing my entry for that eek) #justicefordeandria #justiceforsaintmary
October 7, 20168 yr Author wanna be down with you fyqxNqYl3vs Deandria goes steel drum dance for 89 :cheer: This is the entry I've been longing for for months. Pretty addictive, don't ya think? ;) Also, funnily enough, it's our second entry that features non-stop spinning in its "video" lol ~ the previous one ended up winning, let's see how this fares. ¤ And this is our entry for the Instrumentals spin-off: KNqM6ZLwVE0 I look at this as having the whole package. I first discovered a longer version of the song without the video, put it in my potentials pile but never got around to sending it, but here it is now along with a stunning video for the instrumentals spin-off.
October 7, 20168 yr Vessels 4 am was received very well on plug dj session :cheer: Also I hope you Q and do well with Clement Bazin...lovely song
October 7, 20168 yr Author Vessels 4 am was received very well on plug dj session :cheer: Also I hope you Q and do well with Clement Bazin...lovely song  yass I saw the 7/8 woots, and Ryan said he wasn't present, just forgot to log off, so it might've actually been a full house of supporters :cheer: And thank you for the second part as well, I've never really sent anything like 'With You' before, it was time :D
October 8, 20168 yr Absolutely LOVE 'With You'! I think #Persandria is strong this month (with us exchanging high points in Nuggets as well! + I am also a bit of a fan of '4AM' ;o)
October 8, 20168 yr Author Absolutely LOVE 'With You'! I think #Persandria is strong this month (with us exchanging high points in Nuggets as well! + I am also a bit of a fan of '4AM' ;o) Ooh wow, wasn't exactly expecting you to like my regular contest entry (I pretty much was expecting you to like the instrumentals one tho haha) this time, interesting! Glad to see Vlasy got such a good reaction on plug too! #Persandria ooh another brandy 'i wanna be down' sample! its v good oh... I was trying to search for AGES what the sample was..Brandy sounds kinda cheap-ish, I had no idea :/ But thanks!!
October 8, 20168 yr I think it's actually probably my favourite of your entries since your comeback! :o Reminds me a bit of 'Pick You Up' by Lxury (entered before your comeback so idk if you'll know that song but it's fab). edit: actually after seeing the next post it might have been Blawan I was thinking of, not Lxury :kink: Regardless, it's a great song xx (wouldn't worry much about the sample, it was only a UK #36 hit lol)
October 8, 20168 yr its being used on like every dance song going i wouldnt worry about it, its being used in so many different ways (trifoski's 'getting me down' by blawan actually sampled it too and these sound like 2 completely different songs)
October 8, 20168 yr Author phew thanks, I was feeling a bit iffy about it there :P Shall start my semi listening now to ease me into the night xx (votes will most likely come tomorrow evening after my second listen Bré)
October 11, 20168 yr Author Eek, flopped badly. Clément Bazin's 'With You' dropped out in 32nd (that's second last!) place, with 26 points, which however was a pretty huge improvement from the 4 points that the song that came last received. Looking forward to seeing the exact point situation of the entry anyways (could it be that the only voters were the three who hyped it in this thread? x) Let's hope our instrumentals entry does a little better... The fate of '4AM' and all the other entries in that spin-off will hopefully be revealed tomorrow. We shall be tuning in to hope for the best for our entry and our faves.
