Ooh, i see they no longer think Ruth is the rank outsider. Obviously still last but at least there's not a huge gap between her and JLS.

I really don't get some of the Diana hate. Being a popstar is not always about having the best voice. If that was the case then Rachel and Laura would have walked the competition. You need to also have style and substance. Diana doesn't have the best voice in the world, but it's something different to what's appeared on X Factor before.

 

Also, Ruth and Alexandra are WOMEN. Diana is still a girl. :lol: Ofc her voice may never get as good as theirs, but it will improve no doubt as she gets older...

Good to see Alexandra isn't too far behind Eoghan! ^_^ Even if it is hugely doubtful that she'll even come close to beating him haha :lol: :(

Debatable. Even with Purple Rain the judges still put it to deadlock (against GIRLBAND wtf?).

And the logic they applied to Rachel last night (3 bottom two appearances, no chance of victory) also applies to Ruth.

All down to public votes next week! So I think we could be saying goodbye to JLS TBH! Their appeal seems to have been lost as we're getting to the final! :unsure: Also I think Ruth is now a serious contender :o I think she'll come higher than Alex TBH! And I'm surpised that little twerp hasn't overtaken Diana yet :o :D

Calm down Jack, it's opinion - you think Ruth has performed well and Bert clearly doesn't! I think ONE of Alexandra and Ruth will be gone next week. It was almost a blessing for JLS to be bottom two and saved at this stage, because 'the bounce back effect' is almost certain to save them coming bottom of the results this week, and there's no bottom two for them to be in danger (I think they will come fourth in the votes). I've seen status updates 'cant believe JLS were bottom two - SO voting next week'. As a result, I think Alexandra OR Ruth will slip to the bottom of the votes and leave us - the other will come third, IMO.

I think Adam's right, anyone who likes JLS will clearly be voting for them on saturday no matter how they perform and since Diana and Owen have large fanbases, the eliminated act really can only be Ruth or Alexandra. JLS and whichever one of Ruth or Alex survives will then finish 3rd or 4th.

Sadly I agree.

 

But what could go in Ruth's favour now, is the increasing rumours that Dannii Minogue is going to be sacked as a judge for 2009, so as a protest this could galvanise the vote for Ruth possibly all the way to the Final.

It's an interesting theory, I haven't heard increasing rumours personally but if they are spreading then it's very possible. I forgot to say I think song choices are VERY important this week - if Alexandra does do Unbreak My Heart as her American classic as I'm hoping - and if she does do it as well as I'd expect, then I think potentially she could go through on the strength of her songs this week as opposed to the strength of the fanbase she already has - so I'm hoping she has a good week. Also, she is really due a week towards the end of the line up after surviving two weeks in a row performing second and first respectively - so there are factors which could work in her favour. As much as Ruth is my second favouite, as far as I'm concerned, she is expendible (sp?) if it means Alexandra's safe passage to the semi.

I don't think we can ever REALLY tell who's going to go until the actual show. Just look at Laura/Austin going. Hopefully Alexandra can just put on a really good performance like Adam said and gain some new fans. I think people will also assume she's safe because she's one of the only ones to not go bottom three yet too ... :(

The person left to be revealed last before the bottom 2 isn't the person with the 3rd least amount of votes.

Because again, this isn't true as Mariah (last) and Disco "2nd to last) week she did.

I think he just meant bottom two, as she has been 'bottom three' (I know that it is in no particular order as you say), last week, so he can't be thinking on those lines. Typo I think!
