October 13, 200816 yr Yes but at least its not a cover Dan! It ain't their best, but their mediocre is a lot better than some other bands' best ... I'm mentioning no names! Norma i wasnt slaggin take that so why did you have to start on westlife. Take that have done covers in the past as well end of.
October 13, 200816 yr ake that have done covers in the past as well end of. None of Take That's superhits were covers actually. There were only 4 of them for the whole their career. Not 1004 like Pestlife
October 13, 200816 yr Whatever, whats done is done. End of. I wasnt even saying anything bad about take that and you fans have to jump to the defence because i said their new single wasnt as good as it can be.

But I agree with you on the Take That single! It isn't as good as I hoped it would be. Norma Edited October 13, 200816 yr by Norma_Snockers
October 13, 200816 yr I'm guessing this is the song? DQ78MOcAE0c I actually quite like it :o This is better than I thought it would be. But I would still prefer Britney sto get to number 1. But this is DEFINATELY going Top 3. Is quite 'Chasing Cars' but with more EDGE!

I really like the tune (watching that one that you've posted means I've heard it four times now - and it took me about 10 listens for me to like Rule The World). It is rather lyrically challenged though. Whatever ... it is something different from them ... I suppose they can experiment a bit now. It was interesting what Barlow said this morning though ... when they wrote it ... they wanted to have a song that they could open a concert with and I suppose this would do the trick. Norma
October 13, 200816 yr it very much has the same 'album opener' feel as Reach Out did... I'd be surprised if its not track 1 on 'The Circus'
October 13, 200816 yr It's OK, but the biggest problem I have with it is that it's cliched lyric after cliched lyric - not one of their best.
October 13, 200816 yr number 1 and if not definitly number 2 Pete - I didn't think you'd be able to hear the song in Ireland (not sure it was played there at all this morning) so I've put a link to the Chris Moyles show this morning in the Take That forum (brilliantly funny interview with Gary there, and later with Geraldine/Peter). October 13, 200816 yr it very much has the same 'album opener' feel as Reach Out did... I'd be surprised if its not track 1 on 'The Circus' Is that the name of the album? That means that on the 1st December, 'The Circus' and 'Circus' (Britney Spears) will both be released. How strange
October 13, 200816 yr ^^ I know! They're trying to cash in on Britney's return :heehee: VERY SNEAKY!
October 13, 200816 yr Well just heard this song on the radio. Erm..its ok but certainly not one of their strongest songs. I think it may be a grower but sounded a cross between rule the rule and patience but not as good. It should go top3, not sure about no1 though as there will be alot of competition around when its released near xmas.
October 13, 200816 yr It's ok, certainly not that instant and doesn't have a neat chorus. Seems like a very self-indulgent Gary Barlow song. They probably know they are going to #1 so maybe they have taken the foot off the gas.
October 13, 200816 yr Mmmmmmm , I quite like it as it is very much plowing the musical furrow of Snow Patrol, Keane, a-ha & Embrace. However, I don't think it has the world class songwriting that Rule The World or Patience had and is not as immediate as say Geraldine McQueen's The Winners Song. :kink: As others have mentioned it has more of a Track 1 of an album feel than the lead single from a new album feel to it.
October 13, 200816 yr Mmmmmmm , As others have mentioned it has more of a Track 1 of an album feel than the lead single from a new album feel to it. In the interview this morning Gary said the thought they had in their mind writing it ... was they wanted a song that could open a show ... and this song will do that job quite wonderfully. Having said that ... this is probably the equivalent of Reach Out from Beautiful World (which we all know, was track 1). And having said that ... up until and including now .... I'd still rather listen to Reach Out. My mind is out on this one. I like the tune, I like the guitar at the beginning .... I just wish it would lead somewhere but it doesn't. Norma PS - I'm glad Gary has redeemed himself with the Geraldine song! Edited October 13, 200816 yr by Norma_Snockers
October 13, 200816 yr On first listen, I'm not as impressed as I was with Patience and Rule The World. Like Norma said, just doesn't seem to go anywhere. Probably a grower though.
October 13, 200816 yr i must say its ok but i dont think its the best they have ever done and i think Britney's song is much stronger and should be No.1. And as for their album being called 'The Circus' whats that all about?? Thats Britney's without 'The'. It's mad
October 13, 200816 yr Erm, its definately good. I'm not sure how it compares to their other recent singles though. I love take that, i like how consistent they are, a bit like GA, they give listeners what they want.
