It was more the artist I found predictable rather than the song, I guess. Though, I did say that if it was going to be any Xtina song, it would be this one. I had a feeling that it would be one of the big, power-house diva songs that Alex would be singing. I said last week to a friend that I wouldn't be surprised if she did Mariah's version, and she did. And then this week she's doing Christina.

I just think for next week, she shouldn't perform one of the diva songs. Try something new and switch it up a bit.

Whatever happens tonight, Simon or Dannii will be losing an act tonight that's for sure, Louis is down to 1 band, and JLS seem to be pretty stable at the moment, Cheryl's category is pretty strong, all 3 should walk it, bit worrying for Alexandra, but she should be alright with her song choice, depends if the public likes it.

I do think Scott or Daniel will be marching home tonight. Let's hope Ruth excels with her song choice.

I know this contributes nothing to the conversation intellectually, but:

Scott

:kink:

Know what you mean

Very contemporary, esp now in 2008.

I wanna hear Rock week, but not Rock Ballad week.

I love Rock Ballads, that would be brilliant

Well if you didn't realise Candyman was Big Band, it isn't a predictable song choice for Big Band week!

I do wonder if some know the meaning of the word predictable; it means it's easily predicted. And yet nobody (Martin aside) did!

It's more that Candyman is a bit too recent so it's not the first song I think of when I hear big band. But when you think about it, Big Band is generally Swing, Jazz, brass instruments and from the 20s-50s so I guess 'Candyman' does fit that description rather well.

No, I didn't predict it (I didn't do predictions full stop), but now it's been picked it's just a bit "oh yeah, of course" as are most of the songs. The only song choice I'm really liking is Laura's because it's not a song I've heard hundreds of times before, I'm interested to see how she'll do it.

Me to, but Rock Ballads on the X-Factor would be a snooze fest.

I love to see Laura doing a Rock ballad  Black Velvet by Alannah Mylyes or Don't Speak by No Doubt

I could listen to Rock Ballads all the time.

I can't stand this type of music at all. I really don't even know why I'm watching it at all!

Scott - was good - he has the popstar look - just a bit boring though! - seems a nice guy, 1st on so good one! - 6/10
