October 14, 200817 yr On a side note I do laugh at how many people herald Call the Shots, but before it was released, a lot of slating was going on thinking it was their worst songs and would ruin their top 10 streak. How times change. As for GA getting #1 next week, it is highly possible but i would never say it was definate. I'm really hoping The Saturdays and Geraldine will overtake Leon by Sunday. Simon will go mental. Though he does have Leona coming out in a few weeks so he'll have money coming in
October 14, 200817 yr Author CTS and CSF were great singles and very catchy, I can't see The Promise improving on them, we just have to wait and see next week, but physically I can't see them selling more than 5k in physicals, as the physical market is pretty non existant, most of the sales are now about 90% download. And don't forget not everyone that performs on X Factor are guaranteed a #1, look at Leon Jackson for example, he might be heading for #3 or #4, just have to wait and see.
October 14, 200817 yr I can see the promise selling at least 35k so either way, unless something from out of nowhere comes along then i can see them just taking the number one spot. If not then the next new number one will be the help for heroes song so Pink could spend a month at the top - Really hoping GA take i though but either way, a top three would be great
October 14, 200817 yr I don't want Girls Aloud to get to #01 really :( I mean if excellent singles such as 'Call The Shots', 'Something Kinda Ooooh' and 'The Show' couldn't then I don't think this pretty average song by them should.

The promise is being released on ltd edition 7" records and they are only doing 5000 which have been on pre sale for ages so i think physicals will be much higher than 5k once the cd1's have been purchased. Last time GA went on xfactor, they got no1 on itunes and they are also performing on johnathan ross on the friday of release week which should ensure a massive boost of sales on friday night and through saturday. Oh and CTS was released a week after the album and still got to no3 despite selling 50k albums the previous week. The new album isnt out for two weeks after the prmoise.

All this does indeed bode well, and i am more hopeful then i ever have for them to be #1. But I'm not taking any of it for granted, cos quite simply anything can happen
October 14, 200817 yr All this does indeed bode well, and i am more hopeful then i ever have for them to be #1. Agreed. SOOO, so happy for The Saturdays though! I mean to be honest, i think its shocked alot of people - me included!
October 14, 200817 yr The Saturdays are 'Up' :heehee: (Been said many times before but I can't resist ) to number 2 on iTunes? They're just over half of what P!nk has on her Popularity bars! :o - So could be number 1 by the end of tonight/early morning :o - Perhaps a Top 2 placing come Sunday? October 14, 200817 yr I just had the worst thought ever. What if the saturdays (GA's support act) stop GA from getting number one next week. Damn those sats!!! (i'm kidding by the way - they are doin really well)

October 14, 200817 yr Lol i hope that doesnt happen but i hope 'Up' can have a better chart run? Maybe 3 weeks in top 10?

October 14, 200817 yr ^ The show was rubbish though. I managed about 20 mins of it. Same here, got told off on another forum though for saying it was c**p.
October 14, 200817 yr It would be rather funny if it happened. And if were #1 on Sunday, it would expose them to mass promotion, i wouldn't be too surprised if there was a full write-up about them in The Sun tomorrow, i remember them doing that for Pussycat Dolls when they first charted
