October 16, 200816 yr LMFAO! I think it's quite obvious Keisha didnt say this, and if she said something it's been taken ridiculously out of context to fuel fan argument. All of you need to calm down...
October 16, 200816 yr They don't in the recent years. Yeah Change singles sold more together but that's only because of AYN sales, because the two following singles had poor sales, while CTS and CSF were in the charts for ages and ages. And Change the album didn't sell a hell lot more than Tangled Up, and while Change had a big start, Tangled Up chart run was more revealant and long lasting. And if you go just a year back, the GA Greatest Hits album and singles sold a lot more than the SB Greatest Hits. So no need to emphasize on sales really. GA is the biggest band in the UK, they get more attention from the media and the public, critics and radios are praising them more every year, they got a lot of high profile adverts deals and they are attracting a hell lot more people to their tours. More "relevant" how exactly?! None of that made the slightest bit of sense ;\ I dont think either chart run is "more relevant" than the other :S Its quoted. Oh, then it obviously must be true. Obviously you have no idea how tabloids or the mass media work.
October 16, 200816 yr She probably did say this, it sounds like something she would say, but it's out of context completely. She likely wasn't being catty or anything - just stating fact. Obviously the interviewer used the quote for the story because he knew this would happen :P
October 16, 200816 yr No, they shouldn't calm down. :o I like reading some of the rubbish which is being spouted in this thread. It makes me giggle! Really, believe it if you wish to. Obviously Bertie was never going to be objective about anything any Sugababe apparently said, so... And they DO outsell Girls Aloud... Angels With Dirty Faces - 950k / Sound Of The Underground - 400k Three - 900k / What Will The Neighbours Say? - 600k Taller In More Ways - 900k / Chemistry - 350k Overloaded - 550k+ (exact unknown) / The Sound of GA - 900k+ Change - 495k / Tangled Up - 415k Sugababes - 3,800,000 (total) / GA - 2,700,000 (total) Sugababes - 760,000 (average) / GA - 540,000 (average) Change/Tangled Up singles: About You Now - 440k / Sexy! No No No - 90k Change - 90k / Call The Shots - 200k+ Denial - 70k / Can't Speak French - 135k Sugababes - 600k (total) / GA - 425k (total) Sugababes - 200k (average) / GA - 142k (average) Sales don't show quality one bit, so this argument of Bertie's is largely irrelevant anyway - but there's no getting around the fact that Sugababes sell more, disproportionately successful lead single or not... Tours do better for GA, yes, but it's not as if Sugababes can't sell arena tours. Their GH tour was an arena tour and it sold out. They simply choose to perform in smaller venues. They still make money. On top of this, they actually sell records across Europe, whereas GA don't, so it's all pretty equal in success terms.
October 16, 200816 yr ewww these threads are just awful. So much rubbish spoken, especially in the post above. I'm through with it.
October 16, 200816 yr But when someone is quoted as saying something, it cant be changed! So she said those things whether it was fueled or whether she was tricked into it. Tours do better for GA, yes, but it's not as if Sugababes can't sell arena tours. Their GH tour was an arena tour and it sold out. They simply choose to perform in smaller venues. They still make money. On top of this, they actually sell records across Europe, whereas GA don't, so it's all pretty equal in success terms.Thats something you got wrong, at the MEN arena (where i went to see the Sugababes GH tour) everything but the first tear at the back of the venue was blacked out, meaning they didnt sell it out, the same was at the London night. Remember the fact GA sell dvd's, have many more merchandising deals, have more tv deals and have a top-selling book to rake in (i imagine) more total earnings than Sugababes. October 16, 200816 yr But when someone is quoted as saying something, it cant be changed! So she said those things whether it was fueled or whether she was tricked into it. No, but it can be taken ridiculosuly out of context with words missed out. You really do amaze me beyond believe sometimes. Im sure if one of of GA said something vicious you' be defending them saying "OMFG THE MEDIA TAKES IT WELL OUT OF PORPORTION THE PROMISE4EVA!!11"
October 16, 200816 yr I don't think I believe this TBH! It's not something I see Keisha saying...
October 16, 200816 yr But she said those exact words, so she did say it! Thats the one thing im getting at here thats all! It was of course taken out and of context and provoked but she still said it and IMO made her sound rather immature.
October 16, 200816 yr Tours do better for GA, yes, but it's not as if Sugababes can't sell arena tours. Their GH tour was an arena tour and it sold out. They simply choose to perform in smaller venues. Newcastle was half an arena, with the other half blacked out too, with a few empty rows at the backin the active part empty. With GA it's always full arenas, huge atmosphere. Sugababes - CD sales GA - Tours Media - a load of fools who try to ignite feuds with a chocolate lighter.
October 17, 200816 yr TBH though, it's not exactly like both groups are massive chart sellers anyway.
