I've heard the new Girls Aloud song quite a lot, but only by playing it on youtube etc, myself, but I have to say that it has to be their least memorable song to me. I can't even think how it goes right now. I could think of the sound of any other single by them right now. Usually by now I know them pretty much completely and can't get them out of my head.

I'm all for them being no1 cos its a brilliant song and they deserve a non charity/back of winning a show chart topper but some of the people on here and their worship of them is very offputting. Seriously.

I'm not a fan of the song. It was merely a factual comment based on the speed of their rise up iTunes and the large popularity bar lead. How you equate that to "worship" I struggle to understand.

I agree that SKO and CTS (with NGA, Biology and Love Machine also deserving IMO) deserved no.1 if 'The Promise' gets it. But as a fan i just see it as taking their tally of 3 #1's to 4 ... only a good thing for the band. It will also inspire them to get/make even more chart-toppers.

 

I think 'The Promise' has not only grown on people the most a song has in a while but has also opened GA to an even wider audience, i mean my mum can't stop whistling it and my mates mum is even off out to buy it as her first single in about 10 years!

 

If 'The Promise' goes to the top, i think (unless some stupid dance act or novelty act steals it like most other times) 'The Loving Kind', by the sounds of the clip, will do it too.
