Edit : I can't edit the topic's title, same with the Itunes thread I opened... is it a new rule or something? It's rather annoying cause I can't keep stuff update because of this!

But don't forget that's including Sundays Physical sales as well as Mondays  I know they will still sell ALOT and everything but This time it's sales of 2 days not just the one day like last weeks

Fantastic for them though! :w00t:

Wrong analysis.

Most music retailers aren't open on Sundays so it wouldn't make such a difference really, especially when the physical market has such a ridiculous share of the market.

AND last week had pre-orders (several thousands) were counted in the first midweeks too, so actually it is surprising to see that this week's midweeks are bigger. It does mean sales have really improved ;)

its no surprise x factor wis number 1 but im so so impressed with the girls aloud sales for this week and all going well it will shift at least 50,000 again this week

ALL music retailers near where I live are open on Sundays (10-4 - still open though :P) so I thought it'd be the same everywhere else. And I do see your point on the Pre-Order thing. My Bad! -_-

i think sales will scrape past last week's, which is amazing considering they had X factor and pre orders last week. I just don't understand the phenomenal success of this song. It's good, but they've had better singles that have sold far less. Is it all because Cheryl on X factor is raising their profile? Glad they scored a proper no1 finally though, was deserved after 19 top 10s!

Being a new judge on X Factor didn't help Dannii Minogue at all last year, and she flopped massively.

So I really don't think the success of The Promise is down to Cheryl's new job. I think the song is just bloody catchy and the girls are gaining momentum since the Greatest Hits has been released : the critics love them, it's such a cool thing now to love GA, while it's been quite shameful for years ^_^
