March 19, 201015 yr hi fellow Christina fans. Don't know where else to ask, so....... Whilst looking for info on Bionic I came across a couple of websites that list an album called 'Just Be Free', released in 2001 on warlock records (not her normal RCA). I've been a Christina fan since Genie and I'd never heard of it ! Anyone know anything about this album ? (Its not mentioned on her official site discography so I'm assuming its some kind of pirate release ?) thanks guys (and girls of course!)
March 19, 201015 yr That was an album she recorded before she got famous, and the old label she recorded it with released it to cash in when she made it big. Apparently she didn't want it to be released and fought against it at the time.
March 19, 201015 yr ^ thanks Silver Rocket. Same as happened more recently with Leona Lewis. and I'm sure it happens with other artists too. Have you heard any of the songs from it ?

March 25, 201015 yr http://www.rcamusicgrouppress.com/content/Christina_Aguilera/Cover_Art/CA_Bionic_cd.size.flat.jpg I love it! I'm really looking forward to this.
March 26, 201015 yr I love the cover except the text. If they completely removed 'Christina Aguilera' it would be much better imo. What's with the whole dripping thing? Plus, does she really need a name on her album covers? I think she's at that stage where people will know that it's her album. Especially seeing as it's a photo of her clearly on the front... Also, does anyone know what time the clip will be up on the site today?
March 26, 201015 yr NME says 10pm but I think they're confused. I'd check at half 2 and then at 4 maybe.
March 30, 201015 yr The picture sleeve for the album looks amazing and is her best art work of all her releases.
April 7, 201015 yr A Special Message From Christina I have been hard at work over the last year or so preparing for this moment. As you know, I have just wrapped production on my first feature film, Burlesque, which will be in theaters this Thanksgiving. And I will finally be releasing my fourth studio album, Bionic, this summer on June 8th. I couldn’t be more excited to finally share this material with you all and I wanted to reach out and let you know what this project is all about for me. Each album I release is a representation of my personal life experiences and how they have shaped me. I strongly believe that life is all about growth, self-discovery and self-expression. Making music allows me to define my experiences and share them with others who might hopefully relate. Over the past four years I have learned a lot about myself and what I am capable of. What all women are capable of. Since the release of my last studio album, Back to Basics, I have become a mother, a wife, and most recently an actress. All of these new experiences have allowed me to face new challenges and explore different sides of myself I did not even know existed. I am a woman who wears many hats and carries many responsibilities. There are so many characteristics that define me, and this album was put together to represent all of those different parts of myself. The sound is not necessarily easy to define because I am not easy to define. I can be serious. I can be playful. Sexual. Loving. Tough. Hardworking. Honest. To capture all of these characteristics I chose to collaborate with a variety of artists and producers across different musical genres. I was able to explore and create a fresh, sexy feel using both electronic and organic elements with subject matters ranging from playful to introspective. This allowed me to challenge myself by using my voice in ways I never had before. It also allowed me to push personal boundaries and explore what is possible for my future and me as an artist. You will find on this album songs that represent the many sides of me. I have learned that like all women I am sometimes capable of being superhuman. Like all women I am BIONIC… I look forward to seeing all of you on the road very soon. In the meantime, keep checking here as I am preparing to launch my new and improved website in the near future. It will be a place for you all to connect with each other, with me, and to insure that you are updated with all official information. There are a lot of fun surprises in store for this year! Get ready, and I’ll see you all soon… With love, C/X http://www.christinaaguilera.com/
April 8, 201015 yr Claude Kelly talks "Glam," calls Gaga comparisons "Crap" When Christina Aguilera dropped her latest single “Not Myself Tonight” last week, the Polow Da Don-produced dance workout written by songwriter Ester Dean was quickly dissected by the blogosphere. After all, Aguilera stands as one of the most impactful pop stars of the last decade. But not even her much-lauded vocal pipes and nearly 50 million albums sold could tame the piano-playing “Poker Face”-singing elephant in the room: Is Christina Biting Lady Gaga? In 2008, after pop culture blogger and Lady Gaga booster Perez Hilton called out the “Dirrty” vocalist for ripping off his girl’s style, Aguilera bristled at the comparisons, stating, “I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don't know if it is a man or a woman." Needless to say, Aguilera and the rest of the world is now aware of Gaga's existence. See: her six straight No. 1 singles on the Billboard Pop Charts and 8 million copies sold of her 2008 debut The Fame. Pop/R&B hit maker Claude Kelly (Kelly Clarkson's “My Life Would Suck Without You,” Britney Spears' “Circus,” R. Kelly's “Echo”) isn’t buying the comparisons. The busy songsmith, who wrote four tracks for Aguilera’s upcoming Bionic project and has penned songs for Gaga mentor Akon, insists Christina deserves more respect. “That’s crap to me…it’s really bull,” Kelly tells VIBE. “Christina Aguilera has been around for over 10 years now. As far as pop goes, she is the defining voice of today’s music. She can do things with her voice that I haven’t heard anybody else do. She’s constantly reinventing herself. As fans, as soon as an album is done and an artist disappears for a while, we tend to write them off as over or no longer relevant.” Kelly continues: “In the time that she has been gone, Gaga, who I know pretty well, has had an unbelievable run. Christina has an album that’s going to slap people in the face. The music still has her signature, big note vocals and emotions, but the sound is definitely more aggressive, more futuristic than the last album.” When pressed about how Aguilera intends on proving the naysayers wrong, Kelly points to his work on Bionic. “I wrote this crazy ass song with Tricky Stewart called 'Glam,'" he says. “It’s a hard club song that’s about high fashion. It’s really for the ladies about getting dressed and looking your best, working it in the club and getting glam and sexy before you go out. Christina wants to talk about getting sexy and independent, but being strong at the same time. It will surprise people. I’m calling it a modern day ‘Vogue.’ I wouldn’t say it unless I believed it.” —Keith Murphy
