November 28, 200816 yr Author 'Do Ya' is one of the worst songs I've heard in my life. :puke: By far the worst thing they've ever done. It seemed like they were going the right way about starting to be taken seriously by releasing a good, well crafted song like 'Lies' but they've taken several steps backwards again with this single. Awful. I was very disappointed too. I believe they were going to release one of the better songs, however lyrically, I suppose, this was one of the most suitable for Children In Need as, for example, they couldn't release a song about a man coping with his girlfriends suicide by drinking himself to death lol. The next song should be as good as or better than Lies. At least it wont be a disappointment now all the worst songs have been released (Do Ya, OFTR in my opinion). Lol. November 28, 200816 yr #12 in the midweek chart now - Looks like this will become the first McFly single to miss the Top 10 then! Will be interesting to see how any future singles perform.... Realistically it's gonna be harder and harder for them, because the digitial market is increasing massively, so sometime soon fanbases will not be enough to get them to #1 (and that's what has always hapenned with them). They won't be able to get undeserved #1 again with songs the general public doesn't even know.

If they choose good songs they'll do alright. the old label and the guys themselves have failed to choose the best songs by them off the albums for almost 5 years now, it's time for change. Also, Lies was released on download before it was physically released and did OK, was at about 14# on Itunes for quite a while I seem to remember.

Lies shown mcfly fans can download it climbed to number 10 on itunes and was in the top 100 for around 6weeks not to mention it charting on downloads only at 23 on singles chart If mcfly release the right song do a good enough video and promote it on all the right tv shows they will do well
November 29, 200816 yr As I said I like McFly but charting at #23 on download only and spending 6 weeks in the I-Tunes Top 100 for a single which reached the Top 5 of the official charts is not really a good basis for future single success - Most big pop acts manage Top 10 entries regularly with download releases (Britney, Rihanna, Take That, Sugababes, Girls Aloud....). I do think that as we have seen for a while now each McFly release will sell less and less but hopefully if they gain some credability they might start to sell more albums.

November 29, 200816 yr Author but acts like Take That are massive on airplay - like #1 and girls aloud is getting like 2775 plays on national radio per week - so obv gonna be a big hit That's a good point. Radio 1 & 2 tend to play McFly a lot more nowadays but other radio stations don't play them at all for some reason. If they do, they play Obviously and Five Colours In Her Hair.
November 29, 200816 yr I agree with the airplay thing which is why I think future McFly releases will struggle as physical CDs which most fans of pop acts get harder to find :(
November 30, 200816 yr Wow. McFly are over, this was supposed to be the era where things changed for the them; They've had great radio support from Radio(1&2), expensive video's and a more ''grown-up'' sound. Still; sales are rubbish.

Still; sales are rubbish. Do Ya is not grown up its had no airplay (very little) they have done no tv/radio promotion and the video was cheap and cheesy back in september with a street team meeting Alot of the fans said they never wanted DO Ya released as we didn't like it yet mcfly still released it we all wanted the mature mcfly sound POV/The last song which sound nothing like Mcfly at all whille they still contiune to sell out arenas they are going nowhere
November 30, 200816 yr :o I am shocked at the final position of 'Do Ya' it was between positions 11-13 in the midweeks!
December 1, 200816 yr Author I thought I hadn't seen the video on telly much! Once, actually! Just flicked over to the top 40 on TMF and they explained it couldn't be played because it was too scary. Too scary?! No wonder it's done so badly.

December 1, 200816 yr Author yea they banned it something about their heads in a box No, that was the advert and wasn't because it was too scary. I mean yeah, it could have led to the video being banned too but not because it was too scary, because they were worried people would copy McFly and put people in boxes or something along them lines.
December 6, 200816 yr theres a rumour going around that Falling in love is the next single and out 9th feb and the 2008 Tour tickets go on sale the same week
January 4, 200916 yr theres a rumour going around that Falling in love is the next single and out 9th feb and the 2008 Tour tickets go on sale the same week I was just watching Orange Unsigned Act today and Mcfly were the band the acts were supporting. Anyway Alex Zane introduced Mcfly's performance as 'Mcfly performing their new single' and it was 'The Last Song' :D Is this confirmed anyway? I would be very happy with this choice and think it will get them back on track singles wise  PS I think you mean 2009 ;)

The last song would do well i think as it's not something you would normally hear from Mcfly Nothing has been confirmed yet
