Posted November 6, 200817 yr L' Âme Immortelle (French: the immortal soul) is an Austrian band that produces Neue Deutsche Härte. Many of L'Âme Immortelle's songs feature melancholy or lovelorn lyrics in German or English, and juxtaposed harsh male and emotional female vocals. Current work has moved away from the band's electronic, club-friendly danceable beat roots into the Neue Deutsche Härte (New German hardness) genre with industrial and darkwave influence. L' Âme Immortelle - 5 Jahre L' Âme Immortelle - Phoenix L' Âme Immortelle - Fallen Angel L' Âme Immortelle - Dein Herz Oomph! feat L' Âme Immortelle - Brennende Liebe Any other fans? And sorry if there is already a topic for this band, but nothing was coming up in the searches... Edited November 9, 200817 yr by Cal
November 6, 200817 yr First time I heard this. They sound quite good especially 'Fallen Angel'. I have a soft spot for non-american/british groups. Do they have a album out?
November 6, 200817 yr Sorry i can't listen to anything at the moment, but what is "New German Hardness"? And why did they choose a french name for an austrian band? (well i guess you don't know :P)

They have a number of albums out. All available on iTunes. :) Sorry i can't listen to anything at the moment, but what is "New German Hardness"? And why did they choose a french name for an austrian band? (well i guess you don't know :P) It's more of a dance-metal. Distorted guitars, synthesizers etc. I have no idea why they picked that name  But I like it!

Not sure it fits the bill of this group but 'Another Day' gives me absolute goosebumps.
November 8, 200817 yr "New German Hardness".. Bollocks.... They're basically just playing Darkwave/Industrial/Gothic Rock, a bit like bands such as Dream Disciples and Das Ich.... Why the fukk do some people feel the need to come up with ever-more silly labels....? L'ame Immortelle have been doing precisely this sort of thing for well over a decade now, so to describe them as "New" anything is a total misnomer... They had a more harsh sound when they first started out, and the vocals were 100% male, listen to "Seelensturm", a collection of rare, old tracks, a fair few of which are from before Sonia joined the band, you want harsh...??? "Namenslos", their most recent album, I dont really see as as radical a departure as all that from albums such as "Gezeiten" or "Als Die Liebe Starb", there's always been this harshness in their sound which acts as a counterpoint to their softer side, but what it is, is a vast improvement on the disappointing "Aus Deinen Schwingen"... Anyway, other bands for you guys to check out if you like L'Ame Immortelle... Dream Disciples Das Ich Wolfsheim And So Angelspit (you want serious harshess, listen to this lot.....)
