Just remember if you do "hate" her or dislike her, then remember there are fans on here that do actually like her.

Why would someone not know this? She has more fans than non-fans.

If anything, it's the Diana fans who should be told to accept other opinions. What with the random hissy fits thrown when people choose to criticise her

She's just a contestant on a mediocre-reality show. :heehee:
Yeah but we're only having "hissy fits" when all the hate comes in bundles  and most of the time, some are coming from the same people...

And who'd know more about mediocre than someone with a Bloc Party signature :naughty:

'Flux' is AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING, otherwise mediocity central! I really don't think you can call this years batch mediocre, there's a few who really could carve fantastic careers for themselves - I'm thinking Alexandra, Diana, Laura and Austin, result regardless which is a bit of a shame but relevant nonetheless. I certainly think it's the strongest bunch ever. I know you said it was the show that was mediocre but your insinuation was that that means the contestants are too!

The Bloc Party comment was very tongue in cheek by the way, and before anyone dives on me, J clearly has an opinion so I'm just stating mine as a response, it's no crime!

:heehee: ^

If anything, if we're going by best vocalist, Ruth should win. But she won't. It'll either be Eggnog or Diana, both pretty average (I still think Diana plays up with her vocals, and tbh, they're not really that strong. Why does she always use really loud backing tracks?), and to begin with where is the point in even voting for a winner when the show is so easily manipulated.

What got me though was in the mentoring session - when Gary asked him why he didn't attempt the high notes - he replied - in case I can't hit them. I thought well if Gary as a man almost 40 can hit the high notes surely a 16 year old kid can manage it! And besides ... isn't that what good singers should have ... a good vocal range?

I fully agree re Eoghan - he's a very weak singer.... and did you notice when that high note came in... his 'vocal' was drowned out by the music and the backing singers?

But Gary Barlow.... I'm not quite sure why he continually writes songs with uber-high notes in - because he struggles with them every single time - I curled my toes many a time hearing him bodge Rule the World....and 'Patience' and the distinctly underwhelming 'Greatest Day'..... he really hasn't got the range for those notes.

...and Jake's Diana sig is hilarious.... maudlin-look, "oh I'm ill" demeanor... yet who lays in bed supposedly ill with a rampnat cold smothered in enough lipgloss to keep Girls Aloud happy for the rest of their career?
What's the theme next week?

I've heard him struggle on the occasional performance (for instance the Audience With Take That performance of Patience - he really did have a bit of trouble). But you're wrong in saying its on every occasion ... I've seen them live over half a dozen times now (all from this time round - didn't see them at all the first time) and he's managed the high notes on Patience most times (certainly better than Diana did anyway  ). Every live performance of RTW from them has been perfect - I prefer them live than on record. And on GD - he's fluffed the high notes once - at the MTV EMA awards.

But I digress! This is the X-Factor thread after all!

What's the theme next week?

They are singing on Britney song and one Great American song <_<

Because it's quite a big of an event.

Fans of The X Factor have joined social networking groups in protest against Diana Vickers's hands.

The 17-year-old singer's kooky style involves a number of hand gestures, including stroking her face and curling her fingers.

Unhappy fans have now joined Facebook groups in order to express their dislike for the moves. "I am going to make it my mission to travel down to London and cut off her f**king left hand if she does not stop touching her face with it," one commented.

"Yes, you have a hand, yes you have a face, but you don't need to caress it every week."

More than 8,000 X Factor viewers have so far joined the groups.

If only I'd thought of it!

If only I'd thought of it!

So whar bout Rap Artists who do annoying hand gestures when performing?

I do find it funny though :heehee:

Diana is doing 'Everytime' apaz...

Eugh, my favourite Britney song and she'll ruin it :(

Was hoping Alexandra would get that.

Like I said the other day, Alexandra's vocals are too deep for 'Everytime' :( if she was getting a ballad she'd get INAGNYAW or BTMYH... IMO

Diana has no talent at all? It's just very bizarre as to why she is so adored :S

They give her all the cool songs like 'Yellow' and 'Patience' in order to make her seem like some sort of 'indie' chick doing all these alternative songs and different to the usual karaoke $h!t the contestants drone out each year but I just don't see any talent at all unless you count her spasticated hand movements.

I really hope Ruth or Alexandra wins. They're both far more deserving than Diana or that little Irish imp whose name I can't spell and his monotone voice makes me feel ill. He's obviously still in on looks alone cos 'cmon. Even Leon Jackson is a better singer :/
