I'm glad Run isn't being released to I-tunes.. the last thing 2008 needs is another overrated number 1. I heard the live performance on Saturday and was extremely underwhelmed.. give me the Snow Patrol original anyday over some diva squealing into a microphone. It is bad business practice though.. who on Earth is going to buy the album again just for the sake of a few new tracks ( I suppose it worked with Rihanna though). Never mind, at least in a week Take That should be out, and what with the exposure they'll get this Saturday on the glorified karaoke contest they'll be odds on favourites to add to their impressive tally of 10 number 1's with Greatest Day. Even if it does lack a chorus.. ^_^

Oh well at least it gives Snow Patrol's version a better chance to chart instead :P But what if one of the Karaoke versions makes it to the Top 40? Will it be eligable? Would it be the first Karaoke versions of a song to ever chart? :o

Snow Patrol could have ruled the chart for 2 weeks running in essence.

With tracks by 2 seperate artists covering different tunes by them.

1 Leona - Run

Next week

2 Take That - Greatest Day For Chasing Cars Rip Off

Well Nicki Bliss made #50, so I guess the Karaoke versions will be chart eligible! To my knowledge I can’t think of any specific karaoke tracks ever making the top40…

Don't know about you, but if I look for Beyonce's album on the search box, the album is NOT on her albums' catalog.

Only if I write the name of a song on the album, then it redirects me to the album...

Not only in UK iTunes but in every other country's store where the album has been released today.

Not very likely to chart today with this situation, I guess.

Well they all count! Besides ... its more Coldplay than Snow Patrol!

Matey .... sift through the entire top 40 and you'll find that 90% of it is ripped off from somewhere - and 80% of that 90% is probably from the Beatles!

Norma

That is ridicolous for Leona. Run would blatantly be #1 by now had it been added.

I am buying snow Patrols Version.

Would be hilarious if it went to the top spot and show where Leona Could have been!

Although, They must have it planned in their favour Sony isn't stupid!

It's one big money spinner...She is almost going to certainly release Run surely!?!

I mean It would be number 1 for sure..

back soon Going to download SP Version.. :cheer:

By the way you can now pre-order Circus from the UK store, I pre-ordered mine from Amazon aaages ago. :D
Very little movement today. Quite surprised - have we seen a full update today or do you reckon it was just an early mini-update?.

Wouldn't it be funny if these versions got into the Sunday chart over the next few week.

I cant wait for take that next week. I really really hope they go to number one.

I started off thinking they wouldn't as the song really didn't light my fire the way Patience or RTW did. It has since grown on me and I thought it may just make it ... but I'm not that certain anymore. I think it'll definitely go high and stay around for a while but if Leona does get to number one and Run is as fabulous as everyone on BJ thinks it is (I honestly haven't heard it so I can't comment - I haven't even heard the Snow Patrol version) she may just stay there!

I'm quite certain that their album will go to number 1 though so that'll make up for it I suppose.

I don't care! I'm now going to see them twice! My friend in Stone also got tickets for Manchester and I'm having one off her!

I know i'm alone on this but i don't really get the love for Run. I mean its still a cover, no matter who sings it. I'm really shocked at all the hype for it.

Yeh the TT album will do really well. Even if it doesnt go to number 1. They deserve number 1 with Greatest day as RTW was robbed.

Hope you have fun at the concerts! :D

How was RTW robbed? It was outsold fairly and squarely in the same way Take That outsold the opposition on ten previous occasions to hit the top spot. It was just one of the rare times when two modern classics happened to clash in exactly the same week.

Can't see anything stopping Take That next week - all the major rivals are slowing (Killers might get a small jump with the release of their limted edition 7" this week but that will disppear next week). Run will be available for download the week after if people are still interested in it by then.

A bit like waiting for a bus! You wait for hours and then two come along at the same time!
