Oh and by the way they didnt kiss in yesterdays episode and we havent actually seen them kiss yet. It's just been mentioned that Emily tried to kiss Naomi before.

Hang on, wasn't it mentioned that Naomi kissed Emily before? The intonation in that sentence is meant to suggest Naomi did the 'coming on'... I haven't just ignored what Aled wrote!

I think as a criticism this is truly ODD. Robotic? He has that sense of awkwardness wrapped up SO well. I think to get that across you have to be a really good actor. And he is...

 

There's a difference between awkwardness and then complete forced robotic awkwardness. =/ It's not realistic. Though Jake just mentioned that he could autistic which would definitely explain things more.

 

The acting is just a bit off for me compared to last season. I love Naomi though. And Emily. Pandora too, all very good. Freddie is clearly the worst (though the fact that his character is so poorly written is probably the main issue here).

I think some of these actors have potential, especially Naomi, Pandora and the twins. They just need to develop first.

I still think the old cast was better though, in particular Jal, Michelle and Chris. :wub:

His character was never given much to do. I do think if he had been written to be more interesting, then maybe he could have shown off his acting skills instead. But it looked like E4 wanted more of Maxxie (worst.actor.eva) on our screens, so that's what they told the scriptwriters.

 

I think the standard of acting is bound to be lower on this series than the last in general, especially since a lot of the actors were found through open auditions, which was unlike the original cast (I think at least). But saying that, some of the new cast really can act.

I find this series more believable...maybe thats because like someone said before, the case were found at open auditions. I like it haha I'll be watching tonight.

DIRE episode so far. 20 mins in and f*** all has happened. At least it can normally be really $h!t in a "LOL God how $h!te is this?!" sort of a way. But this week NOTHING is happening. Just empty space of nothing. BORING.

Cant believe half the show has passed and nout has happened. I really think they need to stop the whole one episode focusing on one particular character thing since it's really rather $h!t.

How odd. I'm LOVING it. Very warm episode and some of the smaller details are the icing on the cake:

 

'I want £300 deposit by Desperate Housewives on Thursday'

'You can pluck super-quick. That's gotta be handy!'

 

Why would the action be as relentless as last week when he's not such a confident character with tens of friends and even more enemies? It's doing a pretty good job of depicting a foreigner's sense of being overwhelmed when they have to settle down in a new country.

 

And it's a HELL of a lot more 'realistic' (in relative terms) than last week. So yeah, enjoying it so far.

I just really wish they'd get rid of that Gangsta character! But the whole chilli-eating scene was just... WTF?! :lol:

That second half really was like an entirely different show! I'm not complaining though. Generally FAR better than last week. Poor Pandora. :( And what an exquisite cameo by Maureen Lipman!

I thought it was a great episode tonight, a bit slow in pace at times but the best of the three so far.

I hope he makes a reappearance though otherwise bringing him in for one episode was just a bit pointless no?

Yeah I thought that too - I think he must be coming back.

Thought it was ok tonight, probably better than last week's, but not as good as the 1st week. Much more believable/ realistic, like Jark said.

I loved Thomas' character. So adorable :)
