Emma Bunton, Spice Girl and Media Personality, Signs With WME

 

Singer and TV and radio personality Emma Bunton has signed with WME for representation in all areas.

 

Perhaps best known for her tenure as Baby Spice, Bunton and her fellow Spice Girls dominated pop culture in the '90s with a string of chart-topping singles and the kind of ubiquity rarely achieved in music. During the two decades in which the girl group has stayed largely dormant, she's forged a career as a TV and radio host.

 

Most recently, Bunton has served as host of British radio program Feel Good Weekend on Heart FM. (That gig recently afforded her a viral moment, when she surprised noted Spice Girls enthusiast Blake Lively in studio.)

 

On TV, Bunton has served as a judge on Dancing on Ice and Boy Band and served as a mentor on The X Factor in her native U.K. In the U.S., she co-hosted two seasons of ABC's The Great Holiday Baking Show - one of several stateside spins on The Great British Bake-Off. She's also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, The Circle and RuPaul's Drag Race.

 

Bunton has released her four solo albums over the last 23 years. Her most recent effort, My Happy Place, arrived in 2019 - the same year the Spice Girls last reunited for a tour of the U.K. and Ireland. In fact, just last week, Bunton's first two solo efforts finally made their way to global streaming platforms.

 

As an actress, Bunton notably played a parody of herself on the series Absolutely Fabulous and its 2016 feature adaptation.

 

Bunton also co-founded the eco-friendly baby brand Kit & Kin and serves as a UNICEF ambassador.

As a fan of the film, I appreciate how Emma adapted her singing style to give a faithful rendition. Our queen of covers strikes again.

Possibly my Top 100 songs from UK Top 40 (2000s decade) will be interesting for Emma and Geri fans. Welcome !

All I see is a wasteland of talent over there :( Imagine, wasting it all like this.

I really really hope Emma is laying low whilst preparing a potential comeback. You don't sign up to WME management and go back to a label and management team just for the hell of it... She would have had a plan, I would imagine...

Or maybe Bunton is secretly masterminding next year's Spice Girls worldwide tour herself, in which case please Bunton work your way through it with patience and gusto, ignore your solo stuff for a while longer and give us the good stuff

Can we just appreciate how INCREDIBLE this single was?

The song is a BOP, the performances were FIRE and the video was FUN, the bsides and remixes were PERFECTION! Honestly I think overall this might have been the most thought-out and overall best curated single package overall for Emma.

I wish it had had more success on its own, so we could have had a bit more of an extended era, but at least we got some of her best performances out of it (and the album came back to the charts!)

STOP trying to make Cricket's happen, it's NOT going to happen! 😋

The song has actually grown on me a little, but when she had Breathing and went with this one over that one the most perfect radio friendly track on the album and SURELY another top 10 hit... bonkers.

Not releasing Breathing straight after Crickets was a real shame, actually ☹️

I feel it would have done really well towards the end of the summer and it kinda of sucks she didn't give the song a try!
