She was dropped by Virgin. Her deal with Universal was a different one - a 3 way partnership between the label, her and 19 Records at the time, for a period of time, rather than a series of albums. Technically she wasnt 'dropped' and she was not part of Universal's roarster of artists. So she was still independent working in partnership with a record label :P :teresa:

 

Now she is fully again with a record label and still hasnt been dropped regardless of how *coff* successfull *coff* her releases have been ah.

Actually my friend who works in the industry told me BMG are happy with Emma and have plans for her next year.

Yeah TBH I don't think she has done as bad as people say she has.

Of course, she hasnt sold bucket loads of records, but for a vintage artist of her size, I do think it could have been worse.

 

Clearly BMG are playing the long game with her, which is nice! I just hope the next phase isn't this covers and Disney crap they've done this year. And she needs to be working with better producers!

I honestly dont care about any of their stuff. I only follow Emma and Mel C solo as they are the only ones doing music in some capacity. But I agree with you: they waste their time with such bullshit stuff...

 

Emma announced she was leaving her radio show to become a full time pop star but she is back at hosting middle of the road TV again and hasnt started on a new album at all, after a pretty lame attempt at a 4th one.

 

Mel C at least seems to be gathering some sort of momentum AND music is coming. At least that.

I'm just being honest, all the solo stuff is low rent and boring as f***. Emma doing the Royal Albert Hall is about as exciting as it has got solo wise for over a decade.

As solo artists and celebs they are so boring, Mel c's last tour she wore black every night, when on the recent spice tour she looks like a super hero.

No sure if it has been mentioned here, but Emma did tweet that she is more confident to write new music, and Metrophonic (My Happy Place producers) also tweeted that they are working on new music with her, hinting at an all originals album :wub:

 

 

From Emma's own track record, hopefully Ms Corona pisses off quick enough so Bunton can get to the studio still this year so that we can have a new album in roughly 4 years time :yahoo:
