IF Leona's Album is No.1 on Sunday, it will be the first time that a former No.1

Album has re-entered the Chart at No.1. It will also be the first time that a former

Top 10 Album has re-entered the Chart, & reached No.1.

'Back To Black' does not count. The OCC had different Rules when the

'Deluxe' version of that came out. They counted it as a seperate Album to

the original version - which is why both versions were in the Chart at the same

time. So, The OCC did not count her 'Deluxe' version reaching No.1 in March, as

the same 'Back To Black' Album that reached No.1 in 2007.

'Spirit' is different - The OCC now regard 'Deluxe' versions as being the

same Album - so they'd count her getting to No.1 on Sunday, as a re-entry

of the 'Spirit' that entered at No.1 in November 2007.....

Some artists announce before the album is released that there will be a deluxe version to follow. Think this is the right way to do it giving fans a better choice to decide which version they would like.

What about Abba - Gold Greatest Hits. #1 in 1992 and re-entered at #1 in 2008?

I think slightly more of a right way to do it is to release both a "normal" version and a "special edition" with bonus stuff and DVDs at the same time tbh....

But yeah, actually telling people the intent beforehand is okay as well...

Some don´t announce, but it´s very predictable... Who can´t tell that the Beyonce cash cow won´t be re-releasing her new album sometime in 2009....

6weeksatnumber7 - 'Gold' by ABBA, only entered at No.1 in 1992 - the W/E 3rd October.

This Year, although it returned to No.1, (in August), it did not re-enter at No.1.

It re-entered at No.43 in July, & then climbed to No.1:,

43 - 12 - 5 - 2 - 1

'Spirit', by Leona Lewis looks like it will re-enter at No.1 tomorrow. It also entered

at No.1 in November 2007. No other Album has entered the Charts at No.1 more

than once - if 'Spirit' manages it tomorrow.

Well she already has one planned I don't know when or if it's been released yet.

B'Day Deluxe Edition was substantially different to the normal version, it had 6 new tracks and all the videos.

She is more than welcome to do it again, because it's still a billion times more "deluxe" than every other DE.

Even better. Give the public the choice from the start.

The thing is some artists release them (like, Beyonce, Maroon 5, Kelly Rowland) because their albums haven't sold quite as much as expected. But with Leona, Duffy and Amy Winehouse I just feel like they're trying to bleed fans dry-the albums don't even need to sell more copies.

So basically, there´s to reasons to re-release an album:

1) your flopping and none of the album tracks is good enough to become a hit, so you need to add more commercial songs. ie: Shakira, with a pop/rock album, had to add the commercial "Hips Don´t Lie" to make Oral Fixation sell.

2) your album has already sold $h!tloads and every possible track has already been a single. So why not add more tracks to be singles and sell a bit more? ie: Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Duffy...

In other words, either if it flops or suceeds, it seems that all pop albums are going to be re-released at some point...

I think if you release a deluxe version because one has extra tracks and footage for fans that are willing to pay more in comparison to a cheaper standard version, then that's cool. Also when an artist takes off with the third release of a single then that is another good reason to re-release.

The Rihanna example however pisses me off.

Beyonce is re-releasing I Am.. in February, I believe. With a video to every single song on the album. That was announced a while back.

and after the latest revelations about song theft, she will rename it "I am....a fraudster".

I do love some of the Deluxe Versions of albums but you should be able to take back the original album and then get the new version for a cheaper price. That would work so much better and no one would be so ripped of
Who the hell is Sasha Fierce??? Is it her real name, and Beyonce is just a stage name?

It's her stage name. I like Sasha better than Beyonce though. Single Ladies is so better than If I Were A Boy

It's some bizzare stage alter ego she's made up  The best 2 tracks on the album are the actual Beyonce songs in my opinion.

It would be better but only if it was for a swap, it wouldn't work otherwise...
