Posted June 11, 200619 yr Well Sandi may possibly do the double this week on the albums and singles chart with her new album "Smile... It Confuses People" and her re-released single "I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker". Regardless of the controversy she has a around her at the moment, people are buying her in their droves. BUT There is also another talented female that has come onto the music scene, Nerina Pallot released her debut single in the UK with 2001's "Patience" which scraped into the UK charts at #61 and spent 1 week in the UK Top75. However she re-emerged in 2006 with her Top15 smash, "Everybody's Gone To War". Nerina's album Fires has been steadily climbing the albums chart since it's re-release, and is currently sitting at #21. So the question I put to you all is, which do you prefer? Sandi, with her critical acclaim? Or Nerina, with her sorely underrated album "Fires"? I MUCH prefer Nerina, she kinda reminds me of Natalie Imbruglia looks-wise. I also think she has a better voice than Sandi. I really do hope that Fires emerges as the more successful of the 2 albums. :D Opinions?

June 11, 200619 yr I know most people will disagree with me, but I prefer Sandi Thom - I much prefer her single and her voice to Nerina's, who in comparison is just dull.

June 11, 200619 yr Nerina is undoubtably the better artist. Fires is the best album I have bought this year and hopefully the next single "Idaho" will be a huge hit that propels her album into the Top3. However Sandi Thom does have a better voice as proved by her TOTP live performance, while she has done over 300 gigs in her career. The spiteful PR campaign against Sandi (or rather indirectly attacking Paul McCartney) has backfired - as various redtops newspapers have over the weekend been attacking Heather Mills, Russell Brand, Chris Moyles & Lily Allen, while Sandi now has the #1 single & #3 album in Ireland and she has been offered the opportunity of supporting Bruce Springsteen in the USA - so she is going to be huge with her Joan Baez/Sandy Denny/Bonnie Raitt style material.
