Posted November 21, 200816 yr This is the 3rd single to be taken off of the no.2 billboard album "The Block" so what do yall think?? can it do better than "Single" in the uk?? since they;ll probably be over in the uk for promo. bBp59ZrCGnY
November 21, 200816 yr Single hasn't even reached the top 75. I don't see this doing better tbh. In fact I think this will be a download only in the end.
November 21, 200816 yr I think they could have some success in Germany, as they are promoted with the film in which they are featured. So it could be that they become more air play. I am very curious how the german press will call them , as the papers call Take That the "great-grandfathers of boy-bands" :kink:
November 24, 200816 yr knew their comeback would bomb in the UK *click, click, click* is their only good song.
November 24, 200816 yr knew their comeback would bomb in the UK *click, click, click* is their only good song. Yeah I agree Click Click Click is very good. But I also liked Summertime too. I wasn't keen on Single though.
November 25, 200816 yr their album is amazing. "dirty dancing" is one of the best tracks on the album. to bad it has such a dire video! YUCK
November 26, 200816 yr It all depends on the promo really, if they ARE over here then they could sneak into the Top 40. I don't think there was any promo to go with 'Single'.
November 28, 200816 yr Love the song - My favourite track from their amazing comeback album  I am sure it will miss the Top 75 but I am not too worried they will be over for their UK tour soon so plenty of chances to meet them again  UK media really is not interested in them at all - When they came over to promote 'Summertime' and 'The Block' the only TV shows that had them on were Al Murray, This Morning, Channel 5 News and BBC Breakfast  I did however think they they would have done slightly better in the UK - They were huge back in the day and for their album signing here not long ago over 300 of us slept out overnight to guarantee entry also the UK tour has sold really well but it has not translated into CD sales
November 28, 200816 yr They will flop again and that will prob be the end of them then. I doubt it will be the end of them - The album reached #1 in Canada and #2 in the States, They also still have a huge sell out tour to complete across America, UK, France, Holland, Germany etc, ;)
November 28, 200816 yr It all depends on the promo really, if they ARE over here then they could sneak into the Top 40. I don't think there was any promo to go with 'Single'. There was no UK promo at all for 'Single' I think Polydor have handled the NKOTB comeback really poorly in Europe - 'Single' could have easily been a huge hit!
November 28, 200816 yr I do quite like 'The Block' but nothing on it screams out bit hit. Can't see this having much of an impact. 'Big Girl Now' with Lady GaGa & 'One Song' are the only potential none flops.
November 28, 200816 yr I love NKOTB. always have. they're ace. Their new album is no exception. And there is no deniying they were once massive. total boyband phenomonen. the sales speak for themselfs. even in the UK. BUT there problem now is purley image. Even I find them a bit embaressing at times. Unlike Take That who have evolved quite well, sometimes NKOTB look like old guys trying to be young. Example: The Summertime vid. Its all quite okay till the end scene wearing those awful white suites and reminding us why the boyband thing died out anyway. I like how they didn't take the boaring ruite though, they'e still active and dance. And their new part electro yet Rnb fused pop sound is working for them. Their european promotion has been royally botched up. The label jus dropped their album in the UK than ran away. Im even surprised (though pleased) the album went top 20 here. Its quite shocking that "Single" missed the top 75. They got the material. They just need to work on NKOTB as a whole package. But sadly they will never be as big as they were before. Either way I am seeing them in concert in January. Newcastle arena. can't bloody wait!

I have to say I agree with the image thing that you mentioned - I am seeing NKs at both their London shows and also Manchester, Birmingham, Paris, Germany and Holland but even though I am a HUGE fan and try to go to as many shows and meet the guys as much as possible its not something I tell everyone because as a band their music is bang upto date but their image is still 1990. I do think that Polydor could have easily done so much more to promote the band in the UK - To be honest the reason the album sold 7,000 copies in the week of release was due to so many people buying 2 copies (1 at the album signing and the pre-order download from I-Tunes which gave everyone advance pre-concert booking)
