This whole "Des is a racist" thing really has come from nowhere though has it not?

Yep, but tbh at this moment in time I don't blame them, because they needed a big story to carry and it's been great so far. I just wish it had been hinted at more.

Tbh its been linked as Des is good friends with Gaz's dad which was linked months ago and gaz's family are racist

But that's quite an assumption to make that because the dad is racist, that Des will be too. It wasn't hinted at enough imo.

Well for the first time in probs a year I watched the omnibus.

 

And I was plesantly surprised. Despite the rather weak jump to "Des is a racist", nevertheless it's been pretty gripping stuff. I love how it's become so interwoven with the Calvin story arc aswell. Clever writing.

I'm pretty certain that it's, in the words of Shania, only going up from here.

 

As an aside the new credits have gone back a week as they're still working on them in post-production so it's next Monday now rather than tomorrow, but PM's first episode still airs tomorrow.

Well she is supposed to be racist tbh. :P It shows she's doing a convincing job, same with Des too. It's hard to watch sometimes, but it's supposed to be like that really.

What did everyone think of Paul's first eposide?

It was okay. Nothing heavy on Ravi and Lauren was ever going to be great. You can't judge from his first episode though the effect of PM on the show - it'll be months before we get an idea of how he's affected it. We still don't know how Bryan Kirkwood will do for EE and he's been credited as exec producer for a month now.

 

Oh and I should add that Gaz ruined it for me just by being on screen. I HATE HIM. Quite possibly the worst character in all of soapland.

I thought the episode was really good, and Anita is so much better when given decent material.

Yeah decent enough episode, liking Gaz getting the blame for it as I can't stand his character.

 

Anita and Lauren were both pretty good I thought. Jacqui was as fierce as ever.

I think Hollyoaks rocks. And with all these new families they will do well. I doubt the ratings will be great today as E4 on friday took 455k viewers.. they should get rid of E4
