No major losses their tbh. In particular Amy Barnes who I thought had left already, she hasn't been in it for ages!

She was in it tonight! But yeah, she's not in it much. I wonder whether she'll take the kid she had with Ste or not.

 

The only big loss there is Malachy who I rather like. He's like a less offensively weak and watery version of Jake.

Amy has been wasted for a good couple of years now,. The last thing she really did of significance was that Ste/Josh love triangle, but even that wasn't particularly gripping stuff. I'm not too sad though - Ashley Davies is not one I would rank amongst the better cast.

 

Likewise Dom - he's been background since he started, and let's face it, had he not been Nick Pickard's brother, would John have lasted as long on the show? Unlikely.

Elliott is another one who was never going to be a long-term fixture; a pretty dire character.

 

The only one, like Jark, that I'm disappointed to see go is Malachy. I think there's an awful lot of scope with his character and his HIV and marriage to Mercedes.

The new titles have been put back 'at least' another two weeks by the way so we won't see them until August.

I'm so gutted at Amy leaving, but to be honest the actress has been completely shafted since she had the babies. She could have been a great character because Ashley Slanina Davies is an incredible actress when given the material (her performances at Sarahs funeral were great, and in particular the scene at the playpark when her mum stole Leah was amazing too), yet there's nothing more to do for the character.

I wouldn't say Asleigh Slanina Davies was incredible but she was a good actress and it will be sad to see Amy go. It was quite obvious she would go though- with both Mike and Sarah having left; there wasn't much to take her character.

 

Likewise Elliott who will be losing his friends Zak and Kris soon so there's no point in him hanging around.

 

Like the others; Malachy is the only one I will miss and Glenn is a good actor who has handled the HIV storyline well. Again, I cant see where his character would have gone though what with him splitting from Mercedes and Kris leaving soon.

Hollyoaks getting better and better and like i said 19th July onwords looks WOW!

November there is a massive stunt(no fire?) the sets will change because it's that big? I'm thinking a massive crash? I don't know apparently will be Loads of money? Maybe a massive train crash or something but that's impossible ahhh !!

Anyway can anyone help me out with the RATINGS DS have not produced any since 5th July (Paul's first eposide) P.S how amazing is loretta ;)

I love this side of Loretta? She's gone down well ! I love her now i really do. Paul's made her look more sly and capable of anything. Can't wait until i see the outcome of her. I'm dissapointed she's leaving always liked her.

I think it's Lucy who developed this storyline rather than Paul. You can tell because it's rushed and completely out of the blue. She just isn't menacing enough for it. When she gives those 'evils' she looks like she's about to burst out laughing! I'll admit though that I liked the scene last week where Jake was sat outside The Dog and the camera panned around to her sat behind him waiting to 'meet Rhys for a drink'. But she's largely useless.

I think her scenes with Steph tonight were brillaint. She was so minipulative and persuaded Steph that she's a good person.

I think if thhat child storyline had not been axed due to the mother complaining this would never have happend...

WHAT HAPPEND WITH THE RACISM STORYLINE !!!!!!!

Yeah you can tell the Loretta plot has been plucked out of thin air in a moment of utter desperatism. Having to axe the child killer storyline really threw them off balance there.

Has Duncan actually left though? Surely he'd have seen Ricky first?!

I don't think Suzanne will really leave that much of a hole to be honest.

 

And I don't think Duncan has left.

Spoilers suggest he and Rhys move in with Darren next week. Which could be fun as Rhys and Darren have a quite enjoyable hate/hate relationship.

 

Our opinions on the Ashworths clearly differ - I don't think Rhys has ever contributed anything to make a storyline 'enjoyable'. He's dreadful.

 

Suzanne won't leave a hole, no, because she's more of a supporting player, but she was highly likeable nonetheless and I did like the fairly casual angle they took on the Darren affair storyline.
