I like Ruby! She's absolutely horrific as a person but there's something about the actress, she's very watchable and I do like her relationship with Esther when she isn't belittling her. Esther works brilliantly with Darren too. And you can definitely count me in as part of the Hollyoaks 'crew'. It only takes one good episode for me to become addicted to a soap. Sad really!

This. It shows Anna is doing her job well if we dislike her because that's how we're meant to feel towards Ruby, the writers create her scenes with that in mind. Esther is brilliant too!

#hollyoakscrew! I don't see how this can't get pinned, it gets more posts than E'dale and Corrie, even if in the wider world it's less popular!

A lot of Hollyoaks' problem the past year has been that never seemed to have any idea of the direction they wanted to go in. Paul Marquess really f***ed the show up I think. Those few months with the fire and Steph's death were completely muddled. It seemed that they were literally making things up as they went along and changing things on the day that the episodes were due to air, and it very much showed. All the last minute changes with Amy - one minute she's dying the next she's not. Darren Day's character - supposedly a regular and then he's killed off after a small handful of appearances. The teenage pregnancy storyline was built up hugely, and then suddenly most of the key players (the Savage family) just literally DISAPPEAR one day. Mandy reappears, and then spends months being unable to decide on one persona (was she evil or was she not) and whether she was coming or going. Mercedes decides she loves Malachy and makes a big fuss about how she's going to re-assess her life - then within 2 weeks of being widowed she's engaged to Riley and shagging Carl. Half of the cast are replaced within the space of a couple of weeks, and then within a few months most of those new additions are being shown the door themselves. They were literally throwing everything at the canvas just to see what would stick, and it was chaotic.

Things seem to be much more consistent now, and the Silas storyline is turning out to be quite AMAZING. There's still a few lingering issues. There's still a lot of cast members who have been hired for their looks and not much else (Liberty, Ethan), or who are just plain SHIT (Doug, Ruby). And I really don't think I approve of the way they throw in spoilers with the credits.

Why have Warren, Mandy, Duncan and Lee already been removed, before there's even been the vaguest of signs onscreen that they're going to be departing?

TOP TEN

01. Silas (AMAZING)

02. Jacqui

03. Darren

04. Lynsey

05. Nancy (but she badly needs something to do - signs seem to point to her becoming more engrossed in the Silas storyline, which I hope IS the case)

06. Cindy (on past form, although she needs to be given something to do)

07. Cheryl

08. Rhys

09. Amy (bizarrely I only realised I liked her when she was almost killed off)

10. Brendan

I have been considering re-pinning the Hollyoaks thread, I shall talk it over with Osiris and a decision will be made!

I don't think I can give a Top 10 in any specific order. Ever since Hannah left, I haven't really had a favourite. So instead, I shall give a list in no particular order

Myra (She was brilliant in Hollyoaks Later, however I remember reading an article a while back saying that the older characters were going to be given more storylines but this seems to have never happened?)

Lynsey (Yesterdays E4 episode was fantastic)

Cheryl (She has been brilliant the past few episodes)

Jacqui

Mitzeee (I quite liked the mini thing with her and Ethan over her mother, I hope they go deeper into that. Minus Ethan of course)

Will (Selfish reasons but hopefully something will come of him)

Brendan

Silas

Gilly (He might be a baboon when not used properly but he was good during the whole thing with Steph and the rape charge)

Ste (They are making a massive fuss over the gay domestic abuse storyline but it seems to be going nowhere? Either way, I hope things get dramatic again once Ste gets over his 'I don't need a man' phase)

Doing this has made me realise how many of the male characters are mainly in there for their look. They don't really get many major storylines without being outdone by the females... And can someone please tell Victoria Atkin (Jason) to get a new 'look' everytime she feels something. I'm pretty sure she has the same look everytime she is pissed off, angry or hurt. Its always head raised in the air slightly tilted with that squint in her eyes.

I love Ruby now. I hated her with a passion at one point, but she's amazing now. I think it's the actress, Ruby is an awful character but Anna plays her so well.

I think Anna is a fantastic actress and plays the part very well.

However I wish Hollyoaks could just be the mitzeee show!

Silas is my favourite character and I am looking forward of him

murdering Heidi

YEY at Hollyoaks maybe away to be pinned!

Oh my word. The sight of Lynsey hurtling toward Silas with a rock in her hand looking totally demented has really made my week.

LOL same!

I genuinely cheered.

POOR BRAVE LYNSEY. I also hadn't realised how good of an actress Cheryl was, been on top form recently.

I warmed to Maddie in the C4 episode. Is she going to make a move on Bart herself? She's taking her time about it but I do quite like her. Also hurrah for Diane screen time. I much prefer her to Heidi in the yummy mummy stakes.

I lol'd so hard at her exit. Make a massive fuss about whether Tony wants to be with her or not and then just end up leaving.
I can't believe Mandy's exit happened off-screen!

Same, I was just like  tbh. 'Oh by the way Mandy's gone' kind of thing isn't what she deserved! Could Sarah-Jane not easily just film an exit where she gets the car and drives at least?

They must have parted on awful terms! That or Sarah-Jayne just couldn't waste any more time in Chester when the bright lights of Hollywood came a-calling. Starring (ten second) role in The Dark Knight Rises here we come!

Sarah's returned to Hollyoaks over 5times, I doubt she will ever do better, she was underrated with Hollyoaks though.

Dear god, this teen week is so boring! Gaz is awful, how could they have an amazing week then a below par week! There's more freshers to come and we have a boyband coming in! WTF

Gilly's

return looks like it could be interesting! Really looking forward to tomorrow's E4 episode!

joao any news about Hollyoaks being pinned considering nobody has discussed Emmerdale in over one month!
Was going to see how the thread played out this week seeing as this week is quite a slow week on Hollyoaks but I'm content on the progress. Consider this pinned!
