It’s only the fourth artist album to sell more than 200,000 copies in a week this year, trailing first week sales of 302,074 for Coldplay’s Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, 220,879 for The Kings Of Leon’s Only By The Night and 200,866 for Oasis’ Dig Out Your Soul.

 

It was way too much for Guns N’ Roses, whose first album of new material for 15 years, Chinese Democracy, sold 119,331 copies to debut at number two, and last year’s X Factor runner-up Rhydian, whose self-titled debut sold 90,138 copies to enter at number three.

im well pleased with the sales although i would have liked to have beaten sams town opeing week of 286,000

I thought they'd have better sales, but alas. I didn't think it would hit 200k after seeing the Tuesday midweeks, but it's had the 4th highest week opening sales so far this year (although will fall down to 5th next week!). Sales should be pretty constant from now to Christmas as well, so hopefully 3 weeks of healthy sales should clear it past 400k before Christmas.

3rd. :P Kings of Leon and Coldplay opened with higher, and Take That will probably beat them all this week. The album should sell about 80-90k this week hopefully, and will continue to do so until Christmas is over hopefully. The good thing is too, that the album has a very string 2nd single in Spaceman, so that should be boost for sales too in the new year! :D

yes the album should have solid sales over the next month and easily get the album over the 400,000 whicg is great as im sure there will be 3 more singles which will help sales,,

 

i hope they chart high on the year end chart also but there are so many albums selling well its hard to call how it will end up but i think take that are the ones to watch as hugethings are expected of that album this week alone

Take That should clear 400k this week... maybe even more! Will have sold a million before the end of the year imo. Hopefully Coldplay can too.

Take that cleared 432,000 last week and the killers sold 113,729 bringing their overall sales to 314,028 in just 2 weeks and this album will easily be their third million selling album

Yeahh, i'm pretty sure it will hit a million eventually. Might take a few months though!
