To be honest the girls were the strongest catergory this year. If anyone had them they'd have been at an advantage. Dannii and Louis had the duff groups (and Simon in hindsight) so considering, they did quite well!

what i dont understand about x factor is the show is huge and why they dont have a brand new song as the winner song is beyond me,they did for shayne ward and likewise michelle mc manus on pop idol had a brand new song i really think they could get higher single sales with a brand new song

Maybe. But Leona did so well because of the material she was given. Leon was just generally $h!t anyway tbh, average singer at best, and it beats me why he even won it. Simon must know he can make a lot of money out of Alexandra, granted she'll do whenever she releases her material, but the longer she waits, the better writers he'll be able to get for her album. She's not as good as Leona vocally, but she's got more personality. SAYING THAT, i'm sure i've read Leona's 2nd album is gonna come next year? Might be a bad move to release both Leona and Alexandra's material at the same time, but y'never know.

You think somebody chose Hallelujah thinking it was a nice little Christmas tune? The lyrics are so deep and twisted and bitter it's a very strange choice for an X Factor song :blink:

I don't even think he was an average singer! I feel sorry for him in that Cowell used him for his 'cuteness' (and I have to admit - in a green duck sort of way he was!) Cowell is rubbing his hands with glee now that Alex has won ... it has given his show back a bit of credibility after last year's fiasco!

 

Alex isn't half as good as Leona (voice-wise) but as someone has pointed out - she does have a personality. Shame she had to do a bit of a 'Halle Berry' and collapse on the stage when they called her name ... still ... I suppose that's what Divas do!

The single is out physically on Wednesday, so the track might go to #1 on downloads until the physical is out 2 days later, or Leona could still be #1 on Tuesday, but I doubt it.

I've got to say Alexandra was absolutley amazing tonight.

 

JLS were also brilliant and I really hope they get a record deal.

 

Eoghan just completley failed in comparison to the other 2.

 

oh and Beyonce was spectacular!

I'd still expect her album to be filled mainly with ballads though... she'll do more upbeat stuff than Leona, as she's more suited to that, but I still think her album will mainly be filled with more vocally powerful songs. It wasn't until Listen that everyone really started to think "she might actually win this show", so I think Simon will realise that.

Leona is better technically, but Alexandra (imo) has the nicer tone to her voice.
