As someone who wanted a Diana, Laura, Ruth Final...

I quite frankly could not give a monkeys.....

But I can't stand Simon Cowell and everything he represents, then I feel the urge to throw my support behind the worst act, especially as Strictly Come Dancing (getting their revenge for Simon & Louis actively getting fans of X-Factor to vote for the useless John Sergeant in SCD) & now Geraldine McQueen are supporting "little Eggnog".

Still whoever wins I won't be buying the single, it would make my year if the X-Factor single got stuck behind this vastly superior work of musical/comedic genius which I will be buying and ALL PROCEEDS are for charity (The NSPCC):

Geraldine McQueen - Once Upon A Christmas Song

^ Sorry but I HATE people who vote/think like that. It's completely pointless :/

I guess that's aimed at TIP :heehee:

But I agree, But I'm still gonna download geraldine whether Alex wins or not :kink: If Alex wins I will download the song, but not if she doesn't :(

TIP, What I really don't get is- Week in and Week out you diss X Factor. Yet, you always seem to watch the show and comment on the performers?

Seriously- If you don't like it- I'm sure you know where your remote control is?.

I guess that's aimed at TIP :heehee:

Same here!

Can't see Geraldine doing much tbh, surely the novelty has worn off by now?

I would be shocked if Alex doesn't win :(

I don't think she stands a big chance because she's never really been the favourite, but I don't get how people could prefer Eoghan or JLS to win over Alex, she's just a far better performer AND has a very nice personality AND could represent the UK best out of the 3 AND has the potential to do great stuff.

I just don't like Alexandra. I can see her appeal, and why she'll be huge, but just having a good voice doesn't appeal to me. Sure, she seems a nice bubbly person, but her style of vocals are just like a wet fish to me. Ofc she's got the most potential out of the 3 because Simon probably sees Leona v.2 in her. Her diva style should appeal to the US, as well as the UK, the two biggest markets in the world, so of course she'll probably sell loads of records out of the UK. I can't see any other of the contestants doing that, purely for the fact their style of music wouldn't appeal to the US market. Just because she's the most potential doesn't mean she should win though.

I really want JLS to win personally, but at the moment i'm thinking it'll be Eoghan (like most people realistically obvs) purely for the fact if the papers are to believed it's gonna take a really good performance from either Alexandra or JLS to beat him!

Sorry, but as a big SCD fan. I thought it was bang out of order the way Simon & Louis went on TV & Radio shows giving out John Sergeant's number for people who did not watch the show to vote for him in an attempt to sabotage a rival show so that John Sargeant retired due to having over 50% of the vote.

Therefore, I don't think it is unreasonable if a large number of SCD fans decide to retaliate and attempt to reward Simon with another lame duck (Orville) for a winner.

Remember this year's Big Brother there was a campaign by people who do not like (or resent how a once decent programme has been ruined by the blatant manipulations of the show's producers in editing the show to manipulate the best winner (biggest extrovert/freak/nutjob for their interests) by the successful campaign (led by Ricky Gervais & the Daily Mirror) to vote for the one decent but dull character in the show to win ruining Endemol's night.

It's called people power & there are an awful lot of people who agree with this view. As X-Factor is a contemptible farce (as explained by last week's BBC4's Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe - going over the background of a lot of the contestants on reality shows and how the vast majority are "ringers" who already have agents and connections before appearing on these shows) and are rarely nobodies with talent off the street in stark contrast to the impression these shows falsely make.

So in the words of Big Brother:

Will you vote for a member of the London Community Gospel Choir who sang on last year's finale with them backing Leon Jackson who is the daughter of a session singer & former member of Soul II Soul (who is a long time (25 years) friend of Sinitta's); someone who got down to the last 24 of BBC1's I'll Do Anything Andrew Lloyd Webber's search for an Oliver Twist for the forthcoming West End Musical; or a boyband consisting of one former member of failed boyband VS (managed by former Blue singer Simon Webbe) & another who used to appear on CITV's Fun Song Factory ... ???

You decide.

As for GazBoi's comments:

IMHO if you don't watch something, then you have no right to criticise.

As I do watch the show I feel that it entitles me to criticise the show.

Because I am a fan of music, and I thought Fame Academy was a very good show. (But then Richard Park's CV & in the first series Steve Lillywhite's CV, 2nd series Robin Gibb) were far far more credible & knowledgeable than Simon Cowell or Louis Walsh will ever be). But the winner of X-Factor is going to sell a lot of records but the public are zombies/sheep and will probably buy well in excess of 500,000 copies of the winner's single by Xmas day, so it is only right that I am aware of whom that may be to compare with other similar artists and other contestants.

Fame Academy was a good show with a level of talent far lower than X Factor's...

The X Factor situation is ENTIRELY different to SCD's with John Seargant. Who wins and SCD and who doesn't is of no consequence; two months on, the public don't care. With X Factor, if they pick the right person, they'll care two years on, quite possibly more (see Leona). It VERY much matters who wins X Factor; it very much DOESN'T matter who wins SCD.

What I don't get is why it's so 'outrageous' for Simon and Louis to give out the number for John Sargeant yet it's hilarious for Ricky Gervais to want Rachel to win BB, Chris Moyles to support Daniel Evans on the X Factor and now SCD/'Geraldine' to support Eoghan. Especially when the winner of SCD really doesn't matter.

Lets not forget how Leona was 'discovered'

Every year they try and fix it so their favourite wins just like they did with Leona and Shayne Ward as well for that matter. I don't see how a winner of reality TV show in which the winner gets to be controlled by Simon Cowell via remote control 'matters' that much as the winner will just be a manufactured puppet that'll do whatever Simon Says i.e. mostly safe MOR ballads with a slight change on each album that gets hyped up as 'different' as of course that's how most X Factor singers keep going hence why Leona constantly gets hyped and then the hype gets an extra kick when she comes back to X Factor. Of course they're being clever releasing her next album next November but I wonder if this 'rocky edge' they're trying to give her with The Script (yeah erm.. so rocky...) could be a My December? If Alex DOES win what will happen to Leona? Is there room for both? All this means I'm glad that neither Laura or Diana won because they actually have the potential to be quite good as they were a little too good for the show itself probably.

Simon Cowell uses the X Factor to get his acts publicity because they're shaking their fists at Busted quite rightly changing the market so groups and singers who are products of theirs who have no say in their material (which is what music is all about) were rejected by the public so now people buy the 'artist's' material because they're on the show. Simon won't let a Will Young win again I'll tell you that hence why the show is an absolute farce!

Anyway I'm not suprised, Buzzjack backing a generic female singer isn't really much of a shock  JLS are the most likable act left imo.

Fame Academy was a good show with a level of talent far lower than X Factor's...

Clearly that is why Ben Mills auditioned for both series of Fame Academy but was unsuccessful getting on the show, yet when he applied for X-Factor he finished 3rd.

Steve Lillywhite's CV alone wipes the floor of everyone elses put together in X-Factor. Please don't tell me you don't know who Steve Lillywhite is.

As for Richard Park: In 2001 he was voted First in the most influential person in the UK music industry by a poll carried out by the BRITs.

As well as being a veteren Radio Producer, then Radio Controller with over 30 years experience in the industry, he was also a top consultant for Universal records via an agency he run (which included Richard Rashman the manager of Busted & later McFly) and was directly responsible for Craig David; & the Sugababes signing to Island records in 2001 (after being dropped by London records & losing a member) via recommending Heidi Range for the group. He also recommended they did a cover of the Richard X mashup bootleg of Our Friends Electric/Freak Like Me and the rest is history.

JLS I suppose

I wanted Ruth or Laura to win though.

I hope all these many many people who say Alex will win, vote. Because very often in these kinds of things people don't resulting in a completely ridiculous winner. Even I'm going to vote this week and I'm going out for a meal while X Factor is on
Well said that man, if we vote enough for our favourite then there is no cause for complaint!
