Series 3 & 5 for me

 

Series 3 because of Leona obviously

 

Series 5 because there was a lot more talented acts than previously

Pity most got voted off by the judges. (Diana, & Laura to name but 2) Also Ruth going out.

 

My order of the 12 finalists would have been

 

1. Diana

2. Laura

3. Alex

Those would have been my finalists

 

Followed by:

4. Scott

5. Ruth

6. Austen

7. Bad Lashes

8. JLS

9. Rachel

11. Girlband

12. Daniel

Series 2

 

The show wasnt a media whore extravaganza like it is now. The standard of entry was high (bar Addictiv Ladies, Chico and Andy) and a great winner.

 

Series 1 and 3 come close - even if both had a lot of bland acts.

 

Series 4 was OK, but this is where I lost faith in the show with that tool winning. This years - I gave up after the 2nd live show.

4 definitely, because we got Leon out of it.

three without a doubt...Leona is the only act I've ever voted for in X Factor history, and this was every single week

 

I'd never wanted somebody to win something so much :o

Seems like we have a Big Brother repeat here. Not just this poll, but the public opinion. S1+2 were just "bubblers". Then media went crazy on S3 whilst it was still fresh, with a good outcome too that made it memorable. S4 was a flop from lack of change and poor winner. S5 was kept fresh by introducing new things and having a slightly better format (more live performances from established acts). Should mean that S6 will be violent :P

Series 3 because Leona winning highlighted that there was a point of it. And I'm pretty sure I quite fancied a piece of some man on it.

 

The rest are menial.

People have very short memories. Series 3 was widely seen at the time as quite poor (apart from the winner).

 

The competition was not particularly strong, it was apparent who would win from around the third programme. The final was a foregone conclusion - Ray singing 'A Moment Like This' obviously had no chance, and he just wasn't that good a vocalist, plus he irritated many.

 

There were some truly awful performances (Abba week was car crash TV), and many average or plain awful contestants (although not as many as Series 1). Series 4 was bad, and produced a fairly poor winner.

 

Foe me the strongest for overall standard and genuine competition were Series 2 & 5.
