you're right actually...there was odds for V...

but Green Room definitely kick started the discussion and I'm 90% sure that it was Sabrewulf or maybe Alexxx who started it...can't remember off hand though

X would have been fun to host, definitely, so wide open, I certainly didn't see a Brandy win on the cards...it's the only winner I haven't predicted correctly in the past 6 contests :o

I had been thinking about opening a green room of sorts for a month or so but didn't really think what it would be used for other than announcing entries etc. (foolish me forgetting speculation ), then Sabrewulf suggested it and I opened it ;o

X was fantastic. I do want a surprise on the cards for XIII though - it'll be boring if Release Me wins!

The Green Room certainly made this more interesting than just a contest where you send songs with all the discussion. I'll never know how the contest suddenly went from 25-30 entries to easily getting 35-45 entries each month.

That's probably because you didn't like it back then. As soon as Ben confirmed it I thought it would be a strong contender. The song was getting pretty much 100% positive comments on it's threadi n the R&B forum.

I agree. I haven't heard it yet but I already don't want it to win. There's nearly always a Scandinavian song that gets 'tipped' but it doesn't always pull through. Emilia De Poret and the other Agnes song spring to mind...we'll forget Margaret though.

no it won't it will be perfection

Well yes, but I actually want a results show with a little bit of drama

I'm still not over-keen on Right Here (Departed) now actually, but I like it more than I used to ^_^

I had underestimated Brandy's fanbase on here massively...I can't remember what I tipped to win X actually  I can't be bothered to go back through the odds threads to find out...

edit: oh yes, Headhunted

having said that, it was always quite high in my odds, unlike the tATu/Beverley days...I didn't see those coming at all, even though I had called them both 'dark horses' I still thought that they would come low top ten but I guess a great song will always pull through

Bah, both my entries but so true, seems to be a theme with Angelicland. :( With my 'big' songs they fail to meet expectations whilst Ladyhawke came out of nowhere to become my best finish.

If Release Me doesn't win there is no justice in the world! Most definitely the best song in the contest since Margaret Berger (even if I didn't like that).

I can't see the alternative voters taking to it though, which may just be Agnes' ultimate downfall -_-

Netiher can I, I'm just saying it because I love the song (already spent two weeks at #1 for me). I reckon it still has a huge chance at winning, just depends which genre is most dominant in the contest. By the looks of it there is a Scandinavian overload which will probably work against her as not everyone will like Release Me the best over the likes of Samantha/Gameboy/Discotheque.

let's imagine 45 countries sign up, 12 x 44=528 (as Herzebania can't vote for themselves)

there are 528 points on offer and they only need maybe 180 of these for Agnes to win, which is obviously very feasible, even if all of the alternative voters gave it nothing at all

Release Me won't suffer, the other Scandi-pop tracks might though

I'm very surprised we haven't breached 200 points yet with those sorts of points on offer...Agnes could very easily win this IMO, although all the alternative Scandipop is making it harder for her with each entry

it might dilute her effect somewhat...I think Rosanna will take a lot of her points

Samantha doesn't seem to be that popular

I can see it going top ten. It's a good track, but loads of people will shun it IMO just because it is nowhere near as good as WYRMT

Oops I didn't notice that when I said it, I almost listed Kate Ryan in BJSC VIII but I realised she's Belgian and not Danish, like I thought. It's more to do with people latching onto the best Scandinavian song and saying it will win because there is obviously a 'market' for this type of song in this contest. They usually do well but don't have enough crossover appeal.

I will see what I think about 'Release Me' in a month. This is all starting a bit too early for me, there's over a month before we'll even be at the semis.

Agness is so much better than the Elin Lanto and Margaret tracks though and they finish higher then there is no justice. Not a clue what im entering for the next contest but id be very happy to see it coming second behind Realese Me.

Well both of you vote for me (even if you don't like it) and give EVERYONE a shock then :magic: see it'll be a win/win situation for me & you :kink:

I recognise that song and artist from somewhere, not quite sure where at the moment.

I hate all of these Swedish songs. D: CAN THEY ALL NOT WIN PLS.

It's used in the last dance sequence of Honey! I was going to send the video of the Dance routine, but it had cheering and wooting in it  So I thought, nah!

I don't think odds thread isn't necessary to be closed as you already announced what's gonna win! :P Personally i already HATE Release Me even if i haven't heard it, because i know that many of you think that it'll win no matter if the better song enters the competition later -_- [/likebjscvii]

Remember, this is just my opinion :P Peter only has about 5 big points in the bag, compared with about 46 voters :P
