I like Zavvi. :D Esp the one in MK, upstairs it has Guitar Hero going on. Although, as with HMV, I very rarely buy CD's from there (unless it's old ones or a 2 for £10 deal). It's easier (and cheaper) to just go onto Play or Amazon.

it is the end of the music industry!!!!!

Album sales will decrease by 50% next year leading to most acts being dropped leading to a number 1 album selling around 10.000 copies!!!!

it's a real shame!!! sales were so healthy this year it's weird that Woolworths and Zavvi shut down!!!!

 I doubt it!

I agree, I can foresee a rapid increase in the number of legally downloaded albums over the next 12 months.

downloads are OK for singles, but NOT for albums!!!!!!

what's the point of paying 7 £ or more if you're not gonna own the CD Case, the Booklet, the album design and the CD-Rom extras and music videos.

digital albums are a load of crappp!!!!!

I also apply that for singles too. I just have to feel what I buy.

If your PC blows up then there goes your entire music collection.

Seconded Matt. I download a bit, but I keep getting messages from iTunes reminding me to back up my music collection. Well, sure, I'll do it sooner or later but I do miss the fact that you didn't have to do that with CDs!

No it doesn't. Especially with iTunes, if you explain your problems and are on the same ip you can re-download your purchase history. They are very helpful (I remember a couple of weeks ago someone on here said they were generous when they messed up the Britney album) and I'm sure other download stores are too.

And also, who doesn't own atleast one of A) Memory stick B.) External hard drive C) iPod D) Mp3 player. If you lose your download collection because of a blown up pc it's entirely your own fault!

I agree with you completely.

Albums are good to have on physical format because of the aforementioned bonus content but Singles are good enough digitally. It's too exepnsive to have the case, the CD itself and the cover. You can all download it and make your own CD single if you want.

Most people do, but you'll be surprised at how many people just don't backup on a regular basis. And it's not always practical to backup every single time you download one track

yes but it's never the same without the CD Case, the Booklet, the album design and the CD-Rom extras and music videos!!!!

digital albums are just made because record companies don't wanna spend money on CDs and graphics and design and printings and the jobs that go with that!!!
