i HAD to watch that video coz of the thumbnail jake - AMAZING. really breathtaking idea!!

grebo i will listen to both of your recommendations too, you always have the best tracks in bjsc rly so i'm down 4 this!

i probably won't be recommending much because i'm awful at discovering new music :(

I wouldn't worry about it Leww. I'm just going to post literally anything that takes my fancy.

Here's one more that topped my personal chart recently. This ones a bit more of a grower but it's been stuck in my head for weeks now.

Quite like the sound of that 'Dengue Fever', Grebo.

Auch, I'll probably end up revealing a lot of my UP candidates in this thread.

This one is from Efterklang's latest. Not the greatest album but there a few standouts. 'Apples' is one of them.

Love the concept of that video Jake but the track didn't do an awful lot for me.

Shame I can't see the Efterklang video coz it's blocked in the UK.

They sound like an INDIE COLDPLAY. It's still good though. 'Modern Drift' from Magic Chairs is such an underrated track: it sounds as though it should've been a huge anthem but somehow languished in semi-obscurity.

Quite liking this new one from Other Lives at the moment. Sounds like "Pyramid Song" by Radiohead, which is obviously a GOOD THING.

a little bit sad that i never entered this into UP but i don't think it would have done much better than my other lot tbh

so nice.

I believe they got a fair amount of new fans of that particular song after this:

It's brilliant isn't it. The followup single is even better in my opinion:

Album in just a couple weeks now! Based on those two tracks, I could easily see it as my album of the year.

So in love with both of the Prince Rama tracks although again took a while to click with Those Who Live For Love Live Forever.

Anyway two more

This is utterly fantastic:

Kitten - G#

And this lot have had their own thread before but there's never been that much interest shown but this is MBV-tastic but it's so much more:

Ringo Deathstarr - Rip

I thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread where people can put links/videos of the music they've just discovered, rather than people starting new threads all the time.

I'll start it off with - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqU-ccMN0VE - really enjoying this at the moment.

Next time do a more than cursory search in the forum.

Anyway here's a band from Russia.

The lead singer has a bit (a lot!) of an Ian Curtis fixation but the song is really sweet.

Always like a lady who can swing a bass guitar around her neck!

  • 2 weeks later...

Angel Olsen's LP was released in September, but it totally snuck up on me over the past few days and I'm absolutely loving it. Here's a couple of songs:

Though truth be told I think I prefer her EP from 2010:
