This is their fourth Irish No1 and their first since 2005’s ‘My Humps’. David Guetta (who produced ‘I Gotta Feeling’) sees his own release ‘When Love Takes Over’ (feat. Kelly Rowland) drop a place from No1 to No2 while Cascada’s ‘Evacuate The Dancefloor’ climbs from No4 to this week’s No3. The week’s highest new entry goes to the 2008 X-Factor runners up JLS, whose debut single ‘Beat Again’ enters the chart at No4 while Keri Hilson completes the Top5 with ‘Knock You Down’ turning round and climbing from No6 to No5. Michael Jackson’s legacy continues to make a mark on the Album Chart with ‘The Essential’ holding on to the top spot for a third week, ‘Thriller’ climbing a place from No4 to No3 and ‘History - Past, Present & Future’ climbing from No10 to No7. There’s even a resurgence for ‘Bad’, up from No22 to No9. Florence & The Machine climb from No3 to No2 with ‘Lungs’ while Bruce Springsteen , Paolo Nutini and The Script all benefit from their weekend live performances – ‘Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s ‘Greatest Hits’ climbing from No6 to No4, Paolo Nutini’s ‘Sunny Side Up’ climbing four places from No9 to No5 and The Script re-entering the Top 10 at No8, up from last week’s No15. Despite a strong challenge for the top spot, The Saw Doctors have to be content with No2 for ‘She Loves Me’ – their first release since 2008’s ‘About You Now’ which did make it to the top of the Chart. JLS move up a place with ‘Beat Again’ which rises to No3 while Mr Hudson Feat. Kanye West climb up the Chart as ‘Supernova’ moves from No7 to No4. Cascada’s ‘Evacuate The Dancefloor’ drops 3 places to complete the Top 5. This week’s highest new entry belongs to David Guetta’s collaboration with Akon – ‘Sexy Bitch’ a track taken off his forthcoming album , which enters the Chart at No10. The Album Chart also sees no change at the top as Michael Jackson’s ‘The Essential’ has a fifth week at No1. U2 hold on to the second slot with ‘No Line On The Horizon’ whilst also seeing four previous albums re-enter the Top 50 after their weekend performances at Croke Park. The highest of which – ‘U218 Singles’ – re-enters the Chart at No13. The Script move up from last week’s No5 to No3 while Florence & The Machine drop a place from No3 down to No4.
