Posted January 6, 200917 yr Lock this Mods if you don't think its a good idea ;) Anyway here are some recent press articles which I thought was better all in one thread... The Saturdays almost miss out on GAY gig Girl band The Saturdays made their show at GAY by the skin of their teeth after they were dropped off at the wrong venue. Their driver took them to the old GAY venue at Astoria not realising the infamous club night has now moved to Heaven. They had to pile into a cab and leg it to the venue where 2,000 screaming fans were waiting to hear their new single, Issues... The Saturdays - Issues One of the biggest breakthrough acts of 2008, The Saturdays release their new single Issues available now through Fascination Records. The mid-tempo ballad shows a different side to the fivesome that are fast becoming everyone's new favourite pop group. Issues tells the story of a relationship coming to a head. "It's about a person not knowing if they want to be with someone or not - it's a situation a lot of people find themselves in," explains Vanessa. The single was written by Evan Rogers and Carl Struken, the New York based duo who have been behind hits for the likes of Rihanna and Christina Aguilera. The single release of Issues will include a remix by legendary musician/songwriter Vince Clarke. Vince, who was in some of the greatest pop groups of all time from Yazoo to Depeche Mode, remixed the single after hearing The Saturday's If This Is Love which sampled Yazoo's classic Situation. Issues follows hot on the heels of Up which was a top five hit for The Saturdays. Vanessa, Frankie, Mollie, Una and Rochelle have had an incredible year which has seen them hit the top ten with both single releases and an album which debuted at #11. Issues is taken from The Saturdays recently released album Chasing Lights - the album was called a "contender for pop album of the year" by The Times and "a sexy pop debut" by Billboard. The Saturdays have been cutting their teeth on the live stage alongside some of their peers outside of the pop world. The girls rocked the stage at MTV's Spanking New Sessions alongside White Lies and earlier this month the girls wowed the crowds at Perez Hilton's EMA party alongside Estelle and The Ting Tings. And if that wasn't tough enough Brandon Flowers and Kanye West were both in the audience. Good news for GaGa, meh news for Saturdays The post-Christmas lull is finally over, so it's time to find out what's happening in the first proper midweek charts of 2009. Lady GaGa's debut single 'Just Dance' looks likely to replace Alexandra Burke's 'Hallelujah' at number one. GaGa's selling over 50% more than Burke at the moment. The Saturdays are currently a kitten's whisker outside the top ten with third single 'Issues'. Does Lady GaGa deserve to make number one? Can The Saturdays climb into the top ten by the end of the week?
January 6, 200917 yr Thread can stay i suppose, it will be good to get the less important stuff like this all in one thread. Bigger and more imprtant stories like them hoping to make it in the US will get their own thread though, OK.
January 9, 200917 yr Author Saturdays Frankie praises McFly fans Wednesday, January 7 2009, 21:32 GMT By Alex Fletcher, Entertainment Reporter The Saturdays star Frankie Sandford has said that McFly fans have treated her well since she started dating Dougie Poynter. Sandford admitted that she was worried that admirers of the boyband bassist would send her abuse because of their romance. "I was worried they'd give me stick for it because we've got a MySpace for the band," she told Metro. "[but] for every nasty message I get from McFly fans I get eight nice ones. I went to one of their shows and a lot of people came up to me. I was really nervous about it but everyone was nice." Speaking about their relationship, she added: "We don't go out posing for the paps at clubs so I guess we're not rubbing it in people’s faces. I'm sure that would annoy people."
