So will they ignore the top two and cull most of the list from the rest? Who else will get a look in - Take That for Greatest Day?

So predictable Coldplay Viva La Vida will win... unless the plagiarism issue puts them off long listing it.

Other likeliest contenders: duffy, ting tings, dizzee rascal, adele and the verve.

ej87 - remember when it reaches the last 5 it's a phone vote on the night. Of those listed I think you'd have to fancy Girls Aloud as having the most active fanbase.
Duffy, Dizzee, Adele & Coldplay deserve to be nominated tbh :(

:heehee: I had forgotten, thanks for correcting me. :)

Yeah if long listed Girls Aloud stand a reasonable chance.

Will McFly get a nomination now they're independent? If so they're dead certs.

Also Glasvegas could be dark horses although they haven’t sold particularly well.

Hallelujah will probably get nominated, as Bleeding Love was nominated last year.
i hope hallelujah doesnt win. I know its had the most sales but i dont think alex deserves a brit for it.

I think that

Duffy - Mercy

Estelle feat Kanye West - American Boy

Dizzee Rascal - Dance Wiv Me

Leona Lewis - Run

Girls Aloud - The Promise

Ting Tings - That's Not My Name

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

Adele - Chasing Pavements

Wiley Wearing - My Rolex

Take That - Greatest Day

would be a strong 10.

Bleeding Love wasn't the X-Factor "winners single" last year (or any year!) - Leon Jackson's was which got snubbed.

But 'A moment like this' and 'When you belive' weren't, and that's what 'Hallelujah' is like.

Estelle or Girls Aloud HAVE to win !

From that lot my vote would definitely go to Coldplay. The album was a bit of a disappointment but that single is cracking! All of the others are a bit 'mehhhhh'.

Leona's A Moment Like This was on the 'long list' two years ago!

Duffy - Mercy might win.

Adele, Tings, GA - Promise will be added imo.

I thought that covers weren't eligible? I'm most probably wrong

Yep covers are allowed. Robbie William's cover of She's The One won and I think Take That's cover of HDIYL won too. There must be more though.

I'd say that's a pretty likely list, although I wouldn't be surprised if they replaced maybe Wiley or Leona with someone that sold a little less (as with Mutya last year); Taio Cruz "Come On Girl" or Hot Chip "Ready For The Floor" maybe?

Is Hallelujah eligible? I thought the song had to be issued by December 1 to qualify? It used to be the case anyway, perhaps that has changed.

The nominees are unveiled on January 20 and the actual awards are on February 18.

Oh cant wait till the 20th! Spice girls for best tour or live act or best comeback!!!! Need something!
