Can somebody tell me why Take That have fewer nominations than Scouting For Girls? Especially when you consider that Take That's album sold a million copies quicker than any other album this century.

The Circus will probably be nominated in next year's awards. I don't think its eligible for this year's ones! Beautiful World similarly in 2006 / 2007 - but qualified for the 2008 Awards. And I'm quite glad Greatest Day wasn't nominated if I'm being honest! That's why I'm quite happy with the one nomination they've got ... even though Coldplay will win that one. At least they can all go to the bar and get the drinks when the winner is announced from that group. :lol:

 

Besides its better to be nominated for just one and not win it! What about those in previous years who've been nominated for four and come away empty-handed. Embarrassing or what?

 

I'm made up that they're performing ... that was a bonus I wasn't expecting!

I see what ya mean, but it wasn't until he found success with 'Come on Girl' that he decided to release it :D Thank God he did. Such an under rated album!

I totally agree. I can't believe Leona and Rihanna have been snubbed again. This is why i prefer the Grammys to the BRITs. How can Santogold be nominated and Rihanna can't be for BIFA and Beth Rowley (who?) instead of LL for BBFA. The BRITs have sunk to new lows.

I know they need variety in their categories...but Beck, YET again? He and Radiohead are the new Annie Lennox. They could put out a blank CD and bag a nomination.

I've never been a huge fan of urban, but it's also totally ridiculous that Ne*Yo was ignored, he's been THE influence on the urban market this year, as Timbaland was the year before. Even if they didn't want to overload the category with urban, Ne*Yo had a much better year than Jay-Z with his flop Glastonbury performance and lack of any chart success.

Taio Cruz should be feeling slightly aggreived aswell.

It's a good point about Taio Cruz - I don't like him and I kinda like Ian Brown but there's no doubt who was the most active and deserving of a nomination out of the two of them.

so Leona and the Ting Tings missed out with their top 10 songs, but they swapped in another Leona song just outside the top 10 which had big longevity on airplay so maybe you could see why they did that. The Ting Tings snub seems bizarre though.

Ting Tings got very little commercial airplay, it'd be interesting to see it's airplay chart run actually, especially compared to some of the songs below it. I imagine it would've been 'Warwick Avenue' to replace it, but they already had a Duffy song in there...

Oh sod off with the 'Take That 'stole ...' just because Leona didn't win anything last year. Take That stole nothing! I agree ... Shine was a bit questionable ... but Patience definitely deserved its win! You were one of those laughing in agreement at that 'ima' post ... so I take everything you say with a pinch of salt - you obviously hate Take That ... and that is your want ... it is up to you. I get the impression though ... that you'd even think Leona Lewis is better than the Beatles - so your opinion don't really mean jack-$h!t to me! Well rules can be changed. As I said before ... I think last year it was too soon for her to win anything (and to be honest ... being nominated in four categories was just plain ridiculous). But it does seem to be that in the year she has well and truly proved herself ... she is going to be denied a deserved win. Better In Time (and I actually like this a lot more than Bleeding Love) is too distant a memory for her to win Best Single ... I just hope Hallelujah doesn't win ... as it would be like rubbing salt into the wounds. Having said that ... Leona is such a decent person ... I doubt she'd even see it like this.
