EDIT: BLINK-182 HAVE OFFICALLY ANNOUCED THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON A NEW ALBUM AND WILL EMBARK ON A WORLD TOUR BLINK182.COM

.....................TO PRESENT THE GRAMMYS, NOT TO PLAY MUSIC

The Grammys have managed to coax blink-182 out of their five-year hiatus — sort of. The punk trio will appear at this Sunday’s ceremony… as presenters. A Grammy rep confirmed to Rock Daily that blink-182 will take the stage in some capacity, but wouldn’t elaborate on the details. Blink last appeared together onstage in December 2004, two months before the band went on an indefinite hiatus. Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker went on to from +44 while Tom DeLonge formed Angels & Airwaves.

Following the 2008 jet crash that nearly took the life of Barker and DJ AM, Hoppus had blogged that the he was hopeful that a Blink reunion might be on the horizon, and recently admitted that he and DeLonge were once again friends. The revelation that blink-182 would reunite to present together at the Grammys was casually thrown into a roll call of other presenters added to the event, including Kate Beckinsale, Green Day, LL Cool J, Natalie Cole and Diddy.

still pretty big stuff though, and you never know all three of them on one stage at one time, especially as the article said "wouldnt elaborate on the details". or an annoucement could be made :o still, progress is progress.

Oh well, like you say, even just having them all up on stage together could be the start of something...

thats why i did it in caps and exclamation marks, i just got a few people on msn to.

i love destroying people's dreams too fun.

I just wish all of them would dissapear from music tbh. +44, Angels and Airwaves, Blink-182...they're all absolute crap. Especially Angels and Airwaves. Most arrogant, conceited, and annoying band I have ever had the misfortune to read about without any musical credibility to back up their outrageous comments.

same, that was a really poor album, they arent as good as doing serious songs, i think that's the problem, and there a bit more 'grown up' now.

I don't think you understand how excited that title had me.

I hope if they do make another album it is similar to Enema of the State. CLASS A ALBUM. Then again I like all of their albums, even though the untitled did have it's share of dead tracks.

ohmahgawd. MTV is toying with my mind.

Blink-182 To Reunite At The Grammy's

Long-suffering Blink-182 fans, your prayers have been answered. Or, at least, taken a step toward being answered. On Thursday (February 5), the Recording Academy announced that Blink-182 will reunite at Sunday's 51st Annual Grammy Awards ... as presenters.

It will mark the first time that all three members of Blink — Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker — have shared a stage together since December 2004. They announced they were going on "indefinite hiatus" in February 2005, and since then have been trading barbs and focusing on new projects — Hoppus and Barker with +44, DeLonge with Angels & Airwaves.

But in recent months, that frosty relationship seems to have thawed. First, Hoppus wrote a blog announcing that he, Barker and DeLonge had begun spending time together, fueling rumors of a full-scale Blink-182 reunion. Then, in an exclusive interview with MTV News, Hoppus said that he and DeLonge were "friends" again, and that "the future is wide open" for a Blink reunion.

Before we get too ahead of ourselves, let's get back to this Sunday. It's not known whether Blink will be doing anything besides presenting at the Grammys, but the fact that they were sandwiched between Kate Beckinsale and Natalie Cole in a press release also announcing Diddy, Green Day, LL Cool J and Will.I.Am as presenters seems to indicate that they won't be doing much else.

Phone calls to representatives for the Recording Academy were not returned by press time, nor was an e-mail to Hoppus asking for comment.

Will Lil Wayne grab all the gramophones? Is Katy Perry going to tell her girl rivals to kiss off? Can Coldplay march off with a win? MTV News is all over the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, so stay tuned for interviews, analysis and more before, during and after the big night, Sunday, February 8.

there best album is Cheshire Cat by miles imo, i'd love to have another album like that, but another album is another Blink album, so it doesnt matter what it sounds like

Although an album of tracks sounding like they do on 'Not Now' and 'Another Girl Another Planet' would be perfection.

I reckon at the grammy's it will be like "here to present an award, Blink 182' and then they come onstage, say yeah were not actually presenting an award and then go into 'Dammit'.

im not keeping my hopes up but hopefully some sort of secret performance please.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU SAYING THAT IS KILLING ME WITH EXCITEMENT FOR THINGS THAT WILL MOST LIKELY NEVER HAPPEN.

And my top 5 Blink albums:

1.Enema Of The State

2.Take Off Your Pants & Jacket

3.Cheshire Cat

4.Dude Ranch

5.Buddha

All of those are amazing IMO.

yes it is exciting, the greatest pop punk ever are reforming after refusing to talk to each for 5 years. A band loved by billions across the world, a band i spent years of my life obsessed with, a band who made some albums and they are sharing a stage together today for the fist time since 2004!!!! and made many amazing albums.
