where is 'The Voice' gone?

Oh, Mariah took that a long time ago. :P

I couldn't resist, sorry! :heehee:

This is piss poor.

She's going the same fate as JANET.

Except even when Janet's ballads are dull dull dull her lyrics are amusing... :heehee:

Clearly you haven't listened to THIS piece of anti-climatic drivel

Oh no, it's actually growing! I really like the "and I crashed down, and I tumbled, but I did not crumble!" bit and I'm liking the voice, as weak and depleted as it is.

I still think it's more of a song you'd hear from Disney Princess than a Whitney Houston comeback single. I'm still disappointed on that point but I think it's quite cute.

this aint no 'comeback' single, what a load of sh1t

diane warren has went downhill in the last couple years

they shouda got somethin that will appeal to a wide range of people, a ryan tedder song could have come in handy for this 'comeback'

It's not too bad if it was a b-side or an i-tunes bonus song but as a comeback single this is p*** poor.

Lyrically it's the sister of Miley Cyrus' "The Climb"... :(

I was actually thinking more along the lines of Mulan or Pocahontas, but you do have a point there.

Get Christina Aguilera on the phone!!!!

I'm so disappointed in Whitney, two decades and this is her "at her best". We want another "It's Not Right, But It's Ok"

In the midst of all the confusion surrounding Whitney Houston's new single "I Didn't Know My Own Strength", a fan reached out to the label find out exactly what the deal was with the diva's triumphant comeback to the music scene. Check out the E-mail response below..

"We love the song and the leaked version is not the final. We have not yet decided what the first single will be but this is a strong contender. Thanks for your feedback."

Although the David Foster produced ballad was previously confirmed as the lead single, in now seems that the single selection is under review.

Whitney's new album "I Look To You" is set to drop September 1st, and will feature contributions from Ne-Yo, Akon, Swizz Beatz, will.i.am, and Alicia Keys.

This doesn't surprise me at all because it was pretty strange how Half-Whit's big comeback single just leaked randomly, but fellow diva Mariah Carey made her "Obsessed" premiere into a huge deal, so I'm sure the label had similar plans for Whitney. I also think the split between listeners has made the label re-think their decision because I haven't seen a song polarise people like this for a long time.

Personally I think this song is amazing and deserves to be the comeback single. I love her vocals because the slight raspyness adds character and depth to the deeply personal lyrics, similar to Mariah's raw vocals in a "Right To Dream". I feel that this is the song that Whitney needed to sing, it's a timeless classic that doesn't try and conform to radio or the current trends in pop music at all. Love it!

Seeing as it's getting a crap reaction is anyone really that shocked about how they've come out and suddenly said "It may not be the first single" blah blah blah!? LMFAO! I sense another 2 or 3 "buzz singles" :heehee:

I really like this new track, such an inspirational ballad ! The voice is not the once it used to be, but the track's great !

Oh dear. :( Really sad. I knew her voice - which was once amazing - would have suffered, but I didn't expect that much... :( She sounds SO raspy...

Whitney previewing the album to press today.

Some comments coming in:

*first three all very uptempo and modern. first ballad is good too.

*three songs and i think whitney could be on the way to a big comeback!

*leaked ballad i didn't know my own strength has gone down very well here in knightsbridge.

*indication it's not going to be first single. whitney has, of course, dueted with akon. not my fav.

*People are going to be surprised at how good Whitney Houston sounds on her new CD. I've heard it. She's matured, but better than ever!

* whitney album to be called i look to you, named after r kelly song. (We knew title already)

UK release date is said to be August 31st.

Why is Clive wearing trousers as high as his nipples?

Anyway the promo shot is totally lovely. It'll be the photo used on the cover which I'm glad about. It's elegant and slightly sly.

The song has grown on me a bit, but its still not good enough for a comeback single!
