but if people are calling a KC track that only leaked 2 days ago, and therefore largely unheard, cheap surely its somewhere similar?

But the thing with Kelly and Lily's tracks are that they're from two of Buzzjack's most anticipated albums of 2009, so whether they're the lead single or an album track they're quite cheap as most people will have downloaded and listened to the albums the day they leaked. If "Shattered Glass" was cheap, "Already Gone" and "Back To The Start" are just as cheap. (those three artists are currently the top 3 in the Multichart)

Album tracks in general are not cheap but there are certain artists where it is cheap. Britney, Rihanna, Lily, Kelly, Leona, Kylie, Duffy etc. = (N). Gabriella Cilmi, Alesha, Mutya, Amy MacDonald, Beverley Knight, Nat Bass etc. = (Y). (imo of course)

This contest is so wide open, its going to be a very interesting Semi, definitely gonna have some shocks in it.
Oh, btw, I thought I would say, my results might not be in until the weekend, I have exams all week, so its will be non-stop revision.

I'd agree with this I think, the bigger the artist, the cheaper the song I think...Lily, Kylie, Duffy, Rihanna and Britney are in a different sales league to Beverley Knight, Mutya and Gabriella Cilmi...

and Agnes wasn't cheap James, just popular  the hype that the song had only came from about 2 or 3 posters (mostly me :kink:)

I'm quite busy too, so mine will probably be at the weekend.

I have exams too starting on wendsday :o

I'm going to try and make a start tonight and tommorrow though and I'll probably send in my votes on Friday/Saturday

going to start listening to the songs in my semi now, am excited :o

semi 2 is so fresh to me, I'm so glad I'm in it!

I hope this competition is a blip but as I said at the time the #10 contest has allowed the cheapness genie out of the lamp.

Looking at all the entries I have a horrible feeling that Nonsuch may be withdrawing from the competition if a lot of the cheap songs do well as it will be getting back to BJSC I - VI levels, and that did not interest me then as I think this competition should be firstly & foremost about discovering new, obscure & unknown artists & their music.

we all have super cheap moments, me in BJSCIII with Andreas Johnson's very well known UK top 5 hit Glorious, you with the Kylie and Duffy songs that most of the BJSC participants probably knew well before you sent them

I think everyone else is just having their cheap moment at the same time and I am sure it will return to normal next month...I can't see FSR Rontvia withdrawing unless I ever leave Buzzjack, or shock horror, Buzzjack ever comes to an end (but we could probably relocate the contest to another forum if there was enough interest), but I just will stop voting for the super cheap songs in the future if they all do really well in this contest until they are flushed out completely...I feel like two thirds of the songs sent this month are of great interest to me, and the other third are just songs that have been in my personal chart for ages which really don't feel like BJSC entries at all

tbh, i dont really think my entry is as cheap as everyone is saying it is... i mean, it's quite love/hate on buzzjack and it's not gonna go anywhere near top 40 LOL....

oh, the melody of The Journey, Kathaldazia's entry reminds me slightly of Delta's Out Of The Blue :heehee: not that this is a bad thing of course!

So after 5 sets of votes in each semi-final here are some clues....

  • Some countries have given points, and many countries have also recieved them.
  • A total of 510 points has been given out at this stage, which is divided between various songs.
  • A country, or more than one country is/are leading both semi-finals by a certain number of points.
  • There are countries at the bottom of both semis who may or may not have nul points.
  • One country, the hosts, Herzebania, are not in the top 23 of either semi-final.

Keep voting, and stay tuned for more clues!!

JRK-Off's video has been deleted...I hope the song's on Spotify...

edit: no it's not, so nobody from Semi-2 can send their votes without hearing the song until the link's fixed/new one uploaded
