You've got to be joking  Royksopp are definitely not popular enough to win, and after Mowgli's Road I don't see Nonsuch standing much of a chance either...

How do you know how popular Royksopp is -_-

It'd be amazing is Royksopp did as well as I did with The Knife

Why are my odds so high... there's no way it's gonna do that well LOL and I'm not saying that just coz it's my own entry.

I see Kelly winning :o

I dunno, it just sounds like a proper BJSC song to me. I haven't really seen many people say they love it but I'm predicting a 'non-cheap' song will prevail so my top 3 are the ones I think have the most chance to do it. Gosh Mikal, you criticise the odds when we underestimate your entries, now you don't like them being so high - make up your mind. :kink:

I think Kelly could do it, you can certainly notice Ryan Tedder's influence. It's basically "Halo" by a less marmite artist.

Röyksopp is

Not that I don't like Kelly Clarkson or have something against Scherz but i hope Already Gone doesn't win. There're just too many better songs in the competition than the most favourite song from the most favourite BJ's album so far. :o

I don't think it will reflect badly in any way on Buzzjack what song comes last in this contest, all songs (apart from Herzebania) have qualified for the final on their own merits showing that every single one of them has had a wave of support. All we are predicting here is what order they might finish in, which is a lot harder than before, note that I don't have any 80/1's or 100/1's like I usually do. No songs particularly scream 'last place', the ones at the bottom of my odds are not necessarily the songs I expect to be in last place, moreso the ones that I feel have the least chance of winning overall. If that is your song, I'm sorry, but there has to be somebody at the bottom!

Whatever turns out to be a hit etc...6 months down the line, is in the hands of the public and radio support. We could argue that The Fear and Just Dance should have won, because they later went on to become huge selling UK No.1 singles, but the fact is that these songs grew on people over time, particularly Just Dance on me anyway. Remember when If This Is Love by The Saturdays failed to reach the final. Looking back it makes you wonder what went wrong there? One of Buzzjack's most adored groups, who you now feel could qualify with anything, failed to qualify, and then it went on a couple of months later to go top 5 on a load of poster's personal charts. I don't think that this reflected badly on the posters in question, or on Buzzjack. I just think that the song proved to be a grower and people missed it the first time around. If it turns out that 'The Shampain Sleeper' finishes bottom and then goes onto become a huge UK No.1 and tops everybody's personal chart, yes it might look a bit odd, but in my opinion, there is so much more to a single campaign than just the song. The video, saturated airplay, promotion...all of these things contribute to how much people come to like a song at the peak of its lifespan, so you can maybe argue that the 'cheap' songs have an advantage with the fact that they already have had airplay, have a proper video, have had promotion in some cases, have built up hype/support on Buzzjack already etc...whereas a song accompanied only by a montage video on Youtube will arguably have to work a lot harder to get attention.

However what does reflect badly on buzzjack is when a song does poorly and then about 2/3weeks later tops everyone's personal charts.

Yes i am still bitter about The Fear DNQing for TBO.

I mean come on! Hometown Glory? really?

 they just hadn't been caught by 'The Fear' yet

the song never reached my top 3 and I gave it 6 in VI :D I didn't give it anything in TBO (although it came 11th in my vote) but then the 10 songs that I did vote for all came top 3 in my chart I think, so I wasn't to blame for that one :heehee:

:o

the amount of Ashtonise points Rontvia got in tbo -_-

:P

no but there are certain people who gave it nil points then put it at #1 <_<

I gave Colour Me Dirty quite a few points in the nominations I think, and would have given it loads had it qualified to the final!

:kink: Blame on my curse for qualifying everywhere :(

Colour Me Dirty was shamefully never going to qualify, twas the first time i'd actually pulled my finger outta my ass and looked for a artist that was unknown

damn you eledan, damn you!!!

Thanks for being the only person not to predict my entry which got its first official airplay on Radio 1 late last night & now has a penciled in release date of May 31st will do better than IMHO a so so B-side which was not as good as the A-side Obsessions; nor the other two new leaked tracks from this fantastic young Welsh talent Seventeen & I Am Not A Robot will finish better than the bottom 3 & three predictions have it as a wooden spoon finish which even I'm shocked about and I hope if it comes true will look a ridiculous result by the end of the year that will reflect very badly on Buzzjack IMHO.

Looking at the cheap calibre of the artists entered & more crucially what has made the Final I don't expect to finish in the Top 18.

I do think it is quite a shame, but I don't see it doing well if the astounding (IMO) Mowgli's Road couldn't go top 10 :( I think 11th-18th is likely however...

I hope Marina & The Diamonds will get popular or just recognisable as they just HAVE to be :(

Now there only have to be somebody who enters Bloc Party and all of my currently favourite acts will be 'used' in BJSC. (M&TD, Kate Nash)

Ohno i forogt The Prodigy. Maybe if i can qualify with anything i should enter them at some point :heehee:

The other day I was thinking that if I felt wacky one month I would send "One Month Off" by Bloc Party. I wonder how Bloc Party would do in the BJSC.

Exactly, in the BJSC people only have to listen to songs once and people will rarely listen more than two or three times which just isn't enough to appreciate a song I don't think. It's only when you hear a track beign played over and over on the radio that you start to learn it and therefore enjoy it

I definitely will, believe me. As soon as i win again :kink:

I know THE MIGHTY BLOC aren't exactly one of BJ's favourite bands, but most people who don't like them have probably only heard the singles (with the exception of Jonjo, who downloaded an album and still didn't like them :arrr:). There are a lot of songs on the albums which could do fantastically! (imo)

Maybe we'll see quite soon...

Pavel, if you enter the Prodigy and I enter BP, we could have one hell of a lush BJSC on its way

BP can do well tbh. Stereotypes in people's minds. -_-

Deal then? :kink:
