March 2, 200916 yr Oh yes, and with a current lead of 10% (which can very, very easily be eliminated - just look at Israel :P) in the opinion polls (source: YouGov 27/2/09), the Conservatives are nowhere near a 150 seat majority. A 10% lead would give a majority of something like 50 seats... And your point about England is pretty ridiculous tbh Chris. The Conservatives won the public vote in 2005 in England, but lost the election because they did so awfully in the other constituent parts of the UK...There is no way that Cameron could get 300 seats and leave Brown with 100. Cameron is Blair-lite, but he doesn't have the charisma or the likeability to pull that many seats...I reckon with a year's opportunity, Brown could still turn things around long enough to make a comeback - at least, enough of one to get a hung parliament :P
March 2, 200916 yr A scrounger like Crazy Chris cheering the prospect of a Tory victory is like a turkey cheering for christmas Cameron has promised to make scroungers work for their benefits and disability benefit is only going to be available for the physically disabled so finally looks like Crazy Chris will have to get away from daytime tv and do something useful :cheer: :cheer: The sight of Crazy Chris picking up litter in the street should be enough for everyone here to vote Tory ;) I never watch any daytime TV after Jeremy Kyle. No way can they make severely depressed people work. What if it pushes one over the edge and they commit suicide? I'll fight them in the Courts then European Courts if they try to make me go to work when I am unable to. It's inhumane. My present therapist agrees that I'm very unlikely to ever work again. March 2, 200916 yr It's a wonder Chris supports the Tories, as they'd be the first party to get him off his ARSE and doing some bloody work. They wouldn't as I'd fight it tooth and nail. My GP says my depression is "just me" so will never be alleviated then.

I am no doctor but I am confused how an earth depression means you can't get a job, I could understand if you were missing both arms or were blind or something or some other physical difficulty but why would depression stop you getting a job ? you are on your pc all the time etc so why are you unable to get a job say in an office or whatever ? So you're supporting a party you're intending to fight against should they get into power for what reason exactly?
March 3, 200916 yr Agreed. Sooner the better. Will you go halves with me for his one way ticket? And how will you pay? With the benefits you recieve because you "cant" work?
March 3, 200916 yr They wouldn't as I'd fight it tooth and nail. My GP says my depression is "just me" so will never be alleviated then. if you can put that much effort into fighting it then you are more than capable of getting a job. And it isn't inhumane, they want to stop scum like you taking the system for a ride so they can give more help to those who actually need it.
March 3, 200916 yr I can't believe all the verbal abuse I've received in this thread and yet the mods and Admin do absolutely nothing about it. Yes it's really big and adult to call a person who can't work due too illness a "scrounger" and "scum" isn't it? Some of you seem to not have progressed from the playground.

Some posts on here really do make me PMSL. You think there are no illnesses other than those you can see ie physical ones. What employer wants someone who may go to work one day and not the next or who may just get up and walk out when they feel down or who constantly talks about suicide with the other workers? Not many. Would you honestly employ someone like that?

I am no doctor but I am confused how an earth depression means you can't get a job, I could understand if you were missing both arms or were blind or something or some other physical difficulty but why would depression stop you getting a job ? you are on your pc all the time etc so why are you unable to get a job say in an office or whatever ? Yes it's really big and adult to call a person who can't work due too illness a "scrounger" and "scum" isn't it? Some of you seem to not have progressed from the playground. ive seen nothing here that warrants any disciplinary action.... craig has openly been called far worse then 'scrounger', me n scott regularly call eachother far worse... the point about being 'adult' is to recognise that certain bounds of banter is acceptable as a means of expressing a point. you get called 'scrounger' because you seemingly boast about letting US workers pay for your lifestyle. well as a taxpaying worker i strongly object to working to support idle bast*rds, you are depressed, not physically disabled.

I'm sure that's partly do to the fact that having spent around 95% of adult life not working no one would employ you anyway...
March 3, 200916 yr I'm sure that's partly do to the fact that having spent around 95% of adult life not working no one would employ you anyway... Exactly. Would you?
March 3, 200916 yr Exactly. Would you? I think the point that he was making was that you wouldn't be employed again moreso due to the fact you haven't worked in so long, rather than any reasons to do with depression ;) I'm actually fairly intrigued at this. Surely, as others have said, having no feelings of self-worth can only be intensified by not fulfilling the slightest purpose in society? Have you never considered community service or working with the disabled? That's normally quite a morale booster...
March 3, 200916 yr I never watch any daytime TV after Jeremy Kyle. and what does jeremy kyle tell scroungers/benefits scum to do everyday? GET A JOB! (and thats benefits scum as in lowlife chavs who reproduce at OUR expense, not genuine befefit people)

March 3, 200916 yr I have plenty of feelings of self-worth. Am as good as anyone else, working or not. :) if your sitting on your arse all day doing nothing and spending my money i dont think so mate. I am a horridly poor uni student, i am now on the verge of total broke-ness thanks to this exchange and CV boosting opportunity i resent working hard as f*** to put myself through university without crawling to the government begging for free money and ending up thousands of pounds in debt to have a good chunk removed to pay for your bone idleness. I'm sorry mate but i think i need the cash a bit f***ing more, Uni ain't exactly a cheap thing. If you actually did stuff like volunteer work and things for the community not a single person on here would get on at you anywhere near this badly for scrounging, seeing as you don't i'd quite like the £500 i've paid in bast*rd tax over the past few months back please. Preferably in Australian Dollars, A$1,100 would come in handy right about now. Would cover my textbooks and the cost of bringing them home.

Don't know much about it. Yes, you do indeed get a loan, and grant too if your parents earn below a certain amount. It's still not really enough though. This year my loan is £140 LESS than the rent for my student accomodation!!
