'Sasha Fierce' is barely even uptempos though. There's only 3 - Single Ladies, Radio, and Sweet Dreams (all of which are insanely good). The rest are all midtempo; Diva, Video Phone, Ego, Hello, Scared of Lonely. The last 2 should really be on the 'I Am' disc!

Diva was a flop anyway.

Radio should have been released instead.

She kills the uptempos. Singles Lades and Rado make the second disc. I'll agree the rest are mid-tempo, but it's her personality that shines through those tracks. It's all about her delivery of the lyric. Diva and Video Phone are far from lyrical masterpieces, but the production and attitude of Beyonce is what makes them killer. I think Ego is a mash-up of both Beyonce and Sasha Fierce, and it's a great motown influenced track.

Diva flopped? LOL. So, a #1 hit on Urban radio and #3 on Billboard R&B is a flop now? It wasn't anywhere near the monster that Single Lades was but it did NOT flop. It was successful where it was supposed to be; on the Urban format.

I love Return The Favour already on first listen :o hope its a hit in the UK.
Phwoar, "Knock You Down" is such a grower. Jonjo told me the album took a few listens to click and this song definitely does. I don't think it'd be a crime to say it's similar to "Umbrella" and perhaps slightly better. I think she's bettered "Energy" at least. I've gotta listen to the whole album now.
Also giving the album it's first listen now since i now adore Knock You Down.
Down a 180 on her I think. She's a poor woman's Rihanna (confrontational haircut, holding a penchant for "forward-thinking" production etc etc) But the choons are like catchy. "Turnin' Me On" and "Return the Favour" both equal brilliance. Just brilliant tracks. Don't get the fuss with "Knock You Down" probably a bit happy for me. All that positive thinking, positive backing music malarky is blah bleurgh tbh...
A 180 indeed Jakey. :o No longer rank and inept then? Haha. I kid. I can't say I agree that they're her best though. I probably should listen to the Return The Favour demo leak since everyone says they took out the best part of the song for the single/album version.

'Turnin Me On' is back up a place this week :cheer:

I never downloaded Hurts Me so that's something new for when I buy! Out May 4th. With Return The Favour currently looking good for Top 10 and it being a quiet-ish time, I'd like to think that the album could sneak top 20...

LOLOLOLOLOL at the inclusions of 'The Way I Are' and 'Scream' HAHA!

Yay for a new song :o :dancing: (Well one I don't currently have yet :P)

DEFINATELY buying this album! One of my faves of the year so far ^_^

Im suprised as to how well Return The Favour is doing, top 20 would be good though
RTF is 16 in the midweeks :D

Do you think I'd like the album?

I love 'Knock You Down' and 'Turnin' Me On', not quite so keen on 'Return the Favor' though...

Is the album overall more like the 1st two (even though they're completely different! :heehee:) or more similar to RTF?

The album is different in styles. Give a couple of the album tracks a go on Youtube or something :o

I'd recommend 'Alienated', 'Change Me' (feat. Akon) & 'Energy'... Also try out the tracks that should have made the album... 'Do It' & 'Hey Girl'.

All the above are the most commercial/radio friendly off the album, but the tracks which I haven't mentioned here, have actually grown on me so much since back when I first heard them ^_^

Ok, thanks for the advice Jon, I'll definitely look some up on youtube! :P

I'd be surprised if Cremey liked the album as a whole. "Knock You Down" and "Turnin Me On" are clearly the stand outs. I like "Energy" a lot but it's quite generic as female R&B goes.

It's not really a popular song but "Get Your Money Up" reminds me of a less male version of "Turnin Me On" so maybe you'll like that?
